They're legal to use except for the treble it needs to be cut back to a double.
If certain parties had their way they'd be banned, the end of fishing isn't to far away in the UK its got fkg stupid with animal rights cunts and a government backing them.
Not using trebles would severely hurt my largemouth and striper fun. I feel for you.

I actually replace most trebles on my spoons and spinners with single barb hooks. I actually seem to get more hookups and better action but that’s just me. And it’s way easier to release them.

God damn man.
I got a good buddy who knows most the heads that fish there. It’s about time i give that spot a try.
Leave the trout rod at home and bring the salmon setup because them bows(i think they’re steelhead genetics) are fuckin huge.the feather river hatchery releases shitloads of yearling steelhead into the afterbay. I’m sure they’ve released them up above a few times. Either way, i want some of that fish on.

I heard some of the Coho they planted before made it out of the lake into that pool also. I think the powerhouse outlet serves them up ground fish to eat. It's a pain to get in there, I never tried.

That’s why they went back to stocking kings up in the lake 6-7yrs ago instead of that washington run coho. And those kings are good size now. If we have decent water levels this summer you gotta let me take you. :-)
i usually use my kokanee rods out there for some added fun but i gotta get some new trout trolling rods for the bigger ones.

We're going in the right direction, fingers crossed. I can get a $7 fishing license because of my disability.
Edit: they stopped stocking all "non native" fish because of the Sierra club or someone, which is why they don't stock browns anymore.

Have you ever fished right below the caribou powerhouse? Same shit but you can see the bows stacked up across the lake when the turbines aren’t on and they won’t hit shit!
When they turn on the turbines the fishing can be really good.

Haven't been there, I mostly fished the Feather above Stirling City. Have you been to Little Grass valley?

Speaking of rainbow trout . . .

This Thanksgiving, Canadian one in early October, I made a trip out to BC from my home in northern Alberta to visit family and the day after I got to Chilliwack we left for our family cabin about 50 miles west of Lillooet. We started building it almost 60 years ago when I was about 9 and it got an upgrade about 6 years ago.

Anyway my oldest little sister caught the longest trout on a damn gang troll about 50 years ago and bugged me about it ever since. 18.5" but a spawner that was very skinny and not very tasty.

This trip up tho I nailed a 21" fat male on a little spinner with a single barbless hook on my noodle rod loaded with 6lb line off the neighbours dock. Finally beat her but she up and died in March of 2020 so all I could do is raise it to the sky and yell "I finally beat your ass!" Very tasty too.

My grandfather's old flyrod below the fish that I always take up with me to get a trout for the man that got me hooked on fishing when I was barely out of diapers. Now I'm at that age where I might have to start wearing them again. :D I did get a small, maybe 9", trout on it using a fly I tied 30 years ago. A Royal Coachman wet.

From the back of the cabin facing north. That whole back section was added on during the rebuild. Plumbing installed but not connected yet.

Was great to get back up there after 17 years.
