The far red thread

I got similar numbers running the calculations, id go for somewhere between 1 and 2 mins.
Yea, that's with 4000 Umol. Some strains like a little bit less, so if you still continue to see unwanted stretching, I would lower the time a bit more. but this should be a good starting point for you.

Once again, thanks for clearing things up for me. Seems my Cannalope Haze wants less of the Far Red than the Girl Scout Cookies I grew before.

Im kind of thinking of adding some reds, maybe?

To get the reds for more resin/active ingredients....

Could i just hookup a 600w mh maybe 3ft over my canopy . ?

Or is there a diy kit ? Or even a link to the boards? Last time i ordered fro. Digikey.
Im canadian

Am thinking of getting QB18. Have suitable spare driver. Caught up with info from other fella in other thread.
Two of the full kit 35s arriving tomorrow, they go to work in about a month, after stretch of next 12:12 plants. Still working on how long per day. Will separately run fr after lightsout and 13.5:10.5.

I’ll be running high ppfd and co2 as well, for mainlined sativas in tall tent, hoping to drive shorter flowering period (lightsout fr), and higher yield (emerson r:fr), while trying to minimize post-stretch internode length & laterals (additional red & deep red).

We’ll see. I’ll post pics and comments periodically on the 48sams thread where i posted ppfd mapping results.

This flowering will include a lot of firsts for me, so maybe i’ll blow it, or maybe i’ll get some ginormous donkey dicks.

Keen to see how you go with them.
I have 2 HLG135 kits with the choice of either 3000KV2 & 4000KV2 boards for a 2x4.
Will get 3 foot heatsink to replace 2 single board heatsinks and mount 1 QB18 along side.
A few months before they will be used. Too cold down here.

Perhaps my grow will help you decide what to do/not do...

Very possible.
Purely theoretical thinking so far is to run the QB18 with the QB288V2 4000K boards. Turned off while in veg & off for the last 2 weeks of flower. My spare driver will run the QB18 from 24 to 40 watts
All lights are new. Replacing 9 yr old 200w 4 cobs? that was getting rather dim so inserted in trash

4000k better for veg than flower, so yours would be additionally interesting.

Now you just have to figure out how to mount them on each side of your big light that is not actually made of wood

The diodes are on aluminum sheet, about thickness of metal ruler.

Plan is to hang in between the 48sams on both sides of far red bar and t-5 uva-b. They will all be on their own pulleys. Not pretty, but i don’t want to create some type fixture until i decide what is worth using in future & what would be optimal positioning.

Hlg qb-18 strips and the driver for a single strip:

Too difficult to get all 18 diodes to show up correctly from single camera angle, so showing half strip diode config (same config on both halves). Pic taken through led sunglass lense to dim exposure.

B2C17525-F39B-436D-AD1F-F62F5F3E3A88.jpeg

yellowish are 3 red diodes, pink are 4 deep red diodes, circles show 2 far red diodes.

If you get this light, be very careful about putting ANY pressure on socket that connects to driver cord - extremely delicate!!!
