don't forget the "million dollar highway" between Ouray and Silverton.

i drove that fucker once in my old, 1992 toyota corrolla. no shoulder at all and a 3,000 foot vertical drop mere inches away.

i'm glad i did it, but i would never do it again.
I usually white knuckle that drive. but it's worth it during the fall when the leaves start to change. :p

my eyes never left the road.

there were times i hogged the left lane doing 5 mph in first gear because i just couldn't drive 6'' from that death drop. people flew around me on the right.

never again.

there is no shoulder. the white stripe is the edge. the lanes are narrow.

it is tougher to go uphill with your foot on the gas than it is to go downhill with your foot on the brake.

also, no fucking guard rail. who overlooked that little detail?

it's called the "million dollar highway" because it cost a million per mile to build.

god forbid they made it the "$1,002,550" highway.

Looks like it'd be an awesome drive.

Our open landscape is all down low and literally bog-land.
