The descriptions of aromas

Some of the cultivars I've been researching and looking to pick up lately have had some descriptions that sound disgusting, frankly.
Like rotting skunk, burnt rubber and petrol. Petrol being the least offensive of course. Has anybody smelled pot that fit these descriptions? I know there are more out there but I can't imagine saying "mmm..rotten skunk!"and enjoying it

Don’t know about rotting skunk, but old school skunk (Humboldt in the 70’s) smelled like someone ran over a skunk, but it tasted great.
I’ve made the observation that descriptions of bud aromas are just like wine descriptions, “earthy with overtones of chocolate and berries” , now is that a wine description or weed?.

Yessir. I grew out a plant that turned pretty and pink, but reeked of garlic. Cannarado twins.

20 day old dead skunk on the roadside been run over, yes lol stank the w2hole house out, you have to be a tad caucious when growing in a residential area when growing some of the skunk strain

Peep this, I just chopped my 80 year old neighbours plants for her (mine to keep she says) and they stink like garlic/onions! No idea what the hell strain she had but imma gonna dry and cure it! The aroma is intriguing, though honestly, she had me at free weed ;)

There is a strain from nextgenerationseedcompany simply called “stinky.” Im willing to bet they aint lying.

So some really do smell repulsive? Like jerk-your-head-back? If you put your nose too close?

Some have the nose stinging potential its rare but some do actually reek that bad and cannabis has the potential of so many different taste and smell combos like skunk piss burnt rubber shit and garlic/onions or body odour or sulphury smells or cheesy or fuel/gas these just some examples of what is out there besides the usual fruity and floral stuff pretty much anythings possible i think as for why well not everyone likes the sweet stuff so much so it is personal taste i guess.

I had a Blue Thai, from Dinafem if I remember right, years ago that had a super weird pungent smell that literally would make my eyes water while I was trimming it. I've never had another plant do that.

Idk. To me all those odors, except for skunk, are just plain offensive and I wouldn't be able to get past it, let alone put it close to my mouth. It would be different if it still had a "weed" component in it. Like if I smelled it without expectations and weed came to mind, then maybe....shit. Or whatever. But to just smell shit? Or rotting skunk? Hell no. Garbage. Not desirable.
