The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

Is it worth buying the boards with the heat sinks or getting the sinks local?

And, sorry to ask again, but howthe feck do I find what I'm looking for on Digikey? There are thousands of items come back if I type in a generic term loike heat sink or linear strip... is there a way I can narrow it down to the parts we're mostly using here?

Nice one
so you wouldn't get the heatsinks from Digikey, your better off sourcing them from heatsink USA. It all depends on if your willing to pay the shipping charges from china for the added weight of the heatsinks.

The only parts you should purchase are the LED Modules and the LED Drivers from Digikey and the best way to find them is to search the part number. What are you looking to purchase?

Is there any problem with ordering quantum boards from China when it comes to tariffs? I read somebody had to pay UPS about 80 bucks for their shipment? This was not in 2020 though and this would be shipping to USA
No import duty as long as value declared is less than $800.
The seller puts the value on the package. Discuss it with them when getting a quote

So what's the verdict? get them fom Digikey (bear in mind I'm aleady in the UK) or alibaba?

Oh and another 2 quick Qs...

1. There's no reason I can't run multiple boards of different arrangements, is there?

I don't want them all to have the FR and IR, want at least every other board to be just LM301B full spec 3000 & 35000

2. I want to run 12 x boards at 100w. I was thinking to put 4 each on a 480 driver. Good idea? Does running them a bit lower reduce the penetration ability of the board?

Check these out as well from Diyleduk

https://diyleduk.com/collections/scoper-stripkits/products/scope-70-v2-enhanced-full-spectrum-diy-led-strip-kit-lm301b-red

Where can I find something similar on Digikey to custom make my own?
This is about the closest match to the Scope kit strips that you will find on Digikey.

They're made with LM301H and LH351H 660 nm deep red diodes. They sell 1 and 2 foot strips. Just note that the CCT of these strips is 5390k.

So is that it for Digikey?

Baba the best source for them then it seems. Would I be right in thinking that?

Looking to pull the trigger on these Asap now. Need to just get it done but still wanna avoid that last chance of buyer remorse because I haven't covered all the bases.

Well if it's heatsinks you want, Bava, NOT Baba as in Alibaba, although they are on Alibaba, has some pretty great options for heatsinks.

I am looking for a test board with samsung leds for 1x1m / 3x3', so far I have been using leds cree cxb3590 and citizen horticulture, with very good results. From what I have seen there are quite mentions about meijiu, kingbrite, bava...
Do you recommend any other manufacturer?
My idea was some 480w kit with 4 boards or 2 with 240w, I don't want uv or far red, since I would supplement it, should I choose the lm301b? Which is the better brand for 660nm? I've seen lots of boards with epistar, osram and cree components

Good for all friends. I'm a few days away looking for a quantum board for my crop. Reading some pages of the topic, I saw that you guys usually pick up on alibaba with king brite or meiju store. I didn't see them talking about the driverless plates. I found something on aliexpress, in the YXO store (i also did not see comments about this store around here). The seller assures me that the diodes are samsung, and the far red are cree.
Does anyone have anything to report on this?

I reply with candidates that I have seen
MEIJIU

YUANHUI

KINGBRITE

KORAY

the price is very similar, what if the shipping varies, better to choose boards with 660 cree/osram than epistar? or take epistar and supplement with 660nm bars?

The reason I was looking predominantly at the kingbrite is because of a few reports of dodgy customer service from Meijiu regarding warranty or failed lights.

I'd go with the thinner sinks if I know they'll send me out some new strips or boards if one or two of them turn out to be defective.
