they look somewhat cloudy.. do the get cloudier? it looks half clear and half cloudy.. then theres some ones with just a hint of amber. when the amber starts coming in is it clearly visible or is it just a glare of brown in your microscope? all i see for amber is just a small spec of brown glare.. idk. this is hard :(

You have to train your eye but it sounds like you're getting it. :bigjoint:

...Ummmm well, the triclones will turn from clear to cloudy to amber (as you know)...the amber your wanting will appear as more clear looking but with an amber tint (or brown/redish).

...it may be hard to judge the amber if your under high pressure sodium spectrums...so, you will want to examine the triclones in normal lighting rather than in your bud room....good luck.

Very good tip. I usually cut off a small bit of bud leaf so I can examine them out from under the hps. :bigjoint:

You've usually got a good 2-3 week window to harvest. It's usually best to go a little longer if you are unsure. :leaf:

1. take samples from several different places around each plant
2. get an estimate of % amber in each sample
3. harvest at 25-50% amber averaging the samples

Good advice on here; another thing I'd add: Think about harvesting and maturing different parts of the plants in stages. Sometimes they mature top-down; sometimes bottom-up. If they go top-down, you can take your top colas and then lower your light to get more intensity on the bottom and mature it out another couple of weeks. My last harvest came down over a period of 4 weeks.
