TGA Main-Line Grow-: Pennywise, Ace of Spades, Pandora's Box, and Dr. Who

Hello fellow Weed Nerds,

This was my second grow, and first using TGA Genetics. I have decided to do a comprehensive overview for this journal, as opposed to real-time. The following is some information about the grow:

1 plant each of Pennywise, Ace of Spades, Dr. Who
2 plants of Pandora's Box
All started from seed

These were grown in a 4x4x7.5 tent, using one 600w HID.
All plants were started in 2 gallon pots using TGA Base Soil.
I upcanned once into 8 gallon Oregon Breathers, Super Soil was used in 4 of the 5 plants, the 5th plant was grown in a soilless mix (Bio Bizz Light) with Dyna Grow, Foliage Pro 9-3-6.
All were main-lined for 8 colas as per Nugbucket's method

Seeds were planted on September 11, 2013

Below is picture that was taken 9 days after germination. And so it begins...

Day 20 (after germination)

I had a minor thrips issue early that I tried to rectify with Spinosad. I used it as a soil drench, and foliar spray. I must have not applied it correctly and did some damage to the leaves. I thought for a few days that the crop was ruined, but the perseverance of this plant pulled after a few days.

Day 27-


All plants were topped for 2 main colas. The new growth was normal and was recovering from the Spinosad mishap.

Day 49

All plants were topped for 4 main colas on Day 33. They were then all topped for 8 colas on Day 40.
The below video was filmed 3-4 days before being upcanned to 8 gallon pots. At this point all 5 plants were only watered with tap water; no pH adjusting, no additives.

Day 5 of flower

Photoperiod was changed to 12/12 after 62 days of vegetation (after germination).
4 of the plants are in 8 gallon smart pots with rings applied (peony cages), the other is in a 3 gallon (#5) hard pot, untreated, which is in center of picture.
I used approx. 50% Super Soil in bottom half of of 8 gallon pots. The 3 gallon pot was placed in BioBizz Light mix only (no SS).

Day 28

Plants were growing at a pretty good rate at this point. Once again, only water was applied to the pots with SS. The Dyna Gro plant (Pandora's Box) was fertilized using approx. 1/2 tsp, (.7 EC) per gallon of water.

Day 31

The Pennywise started spitting bananas, so in a panic, it was removed from the garden and placed in a bedroom that faces South. This was in mid-December so it received around 9 hours of natural sunlight, only. It matured very nicely; it just took a few more weeks to finish. Below is the Pennywise in question:

Day 35

A canopy shot and close-up of Pandora's Box. No problems to report at this point. The buds were starting to fill in nicely, and smell!

Day 53

Dr. Who one day before harvest. I'm still very new and inexperienced on when to harvest. If I could do it over again, I would have waited a few more days, at least.

Day 57

Ace of Spades the day it was chopped. I was in love with this plant! The colas were all very uniform and fat.

Day 59

Pennywise. These are the last pictures I have of it. It was harvested 12 days later (71 days).

Day 64

This is the Pandora's Box 4 days before harvest (68 days)

I only have one shot of the Pandora's Box that was grown in the 3 gallon pot, using only Dyna Gro. Sorry for it being blurry, but I think you get the point.

Final Thoughts

I thought this was a fairly successful grow, at least for being my 2nd time. There are many things I will change, beginning with my current grow, also featuring TGA (Ripped Bubba, The Flav).

Each plant was between 26-30" in height, and 25-27" in diameter, with the Pennywise just over 4'.

Below are final dried and cured weights:

Dr. Who- 4 oz
Ace of Spades- 4 oz
Pandora's Box (Super Soil)- 4 oz
Pandora's Box (Dyna Gro)- 4.5 oz
Pennywise- 5 oz.

The Pennywise did herm, as stated in previous post. However, the seeds that formed were all very immature and not very noticeable when breaking apart. All other plants are seed free.
