TGA and Sensi hempy's...

More pictures to come tomorrow. And they wont be those small sideways pictures either. I uploaded those straight from the phone so that's why they look like that. Won't happen again.

Some updates. I Did some slight lolipopping too the girls and boys. I hate ending up with popcorn nugs (pita to trim) so that's the only reason for that. I also tied most of the branches back on the girls to help open up the canopy's a little more. Plus this will help even out the canopy as a whole to allow each plant equal light. Another change is I added plywood for the plants to sit on. The plywood rests on the edge of the tub, but this allows for a lot more space in between the plants. Definitely looks a lot better.

I still have the 400w MH hanging up and I want to to turn it on. But the room temperature is already maxed out, hovering around 80-85 F. With that other bulb I could see the temp rising to 90 easily, and without co2, that just can't happen. I think I might need to invest in another Cool-tube.

Here's a bunch of pictures for you all. The ladies are looking fantastic. I'm calling this previous sunday the first day of flower considering all the plants didn't show sex until then (roughly). So currently they are day 6 in flower. I have upped the strength of the nutrient solution to about 1100 ppm. the ph is at 6. They are starting to drink it up quickly. You'll also notice the new plywood "table" the plants sit on which really give me more width to the grow area. The plants like that. You'll also notice the canopies have been opened up from me tying the branches back, like I stated in the previous post. The metal Halide is turned on, but it comes on in increments to keep the temperature down. It comes on for 2 hours at a time, and then off for an hour and a half. then back on for 2, and back off for 1 1/2 etc.

1. Over head group shot. you can see the left side has a blueish tint due to the metal halide. we'll see how it does. even though I have it on in increments, the temp still gets up to 90. which is obviously too hot, but So far no issues. I'm going to shorten the length of the on time to help temp stay below 87 until I get another cool tube.

4. AO #1. This is a large plant. I had to tie down the two main colas to even her canopy, but she is looking beautiful.

7. AO #2 . This is my favorite of the two AO's. It's much more compact. And it's branches are much stinkier than the #1 AO.

10. AOS #1 (female). I really needed to spread this one apart. she was growing so compact. a real durable plant, but after I tied the branches back she looks beautiful. Just nice large fat leaves. Definitely and indica dominant, not sure if that means it's Black cherry soda dominant or not. I believe so though.

16. JH #1. This is the stretchy one I keep complaining about. I didn't even tie her up. Reason is most of the growth is leaned towards half the plant. it's as if I had it in a vertical scrog net or something. So I basically trimmed all lower branches and kept the 3 largest in hopes to get a few fat colas.

19. JH #2. Another beautiful plant. From the looks of things, I might have been lucky enough to get a more indica version of this strain. If that's the case I'm excited. This is definitely getting pollinated by one of the AOS males.

22. AO male. This plant smells so bad. It smells like oranges and something else. Hard to describe. But I'll definitely be using his pollen for a plant or two.

24. AOS male #1. Forgot to mention above. but all three of these males have been severely lollipoped to make sure I can isolate the pollen. I don't need any mistakes seeing as this is my first try at pollen chucking.

And there you have it. Like I said, this is day 6 of flower (roughly day 13 of 12/12). Hopefully these males hurry up and develop so I can get this pollen!. But thanks for looking.

No love? Id love for some input on the mh im using. Having it come on and off in intervals wont stress the plants will it? Imafraid im gonna turn some of the ladies hermie.

I should mention that's a Bay 11 bud hanging out.

Not sure what the problem was before but i can see those pictures now. Those saucers are a good idea to catch falling pollen. Ive heard some people just wait till a few sacks open, then cut the whole plant down and bag the branches with sacks. Im sure either way works. Keeping it alive like it seems you do would probably prodice a hell of a lot more pollen though. Do you have an up close shot of those,pollen sacks? Id like to see what they look like right before they open.

I came back and fixed the pics, glad to see they held.

Today I finished my collecting, I won't be able to go into the rm tonight. My nose is stuffy and my eyes are burning from the pollen. With the paper rings I collect free falling pollen,try to get all the plant mater out, dry it and then refrigerate. I've used pollen stored like this up to 6 months later.

Here for sex tomorrow morning I've prepped 2 bags with harvested sacs some open some not, but there is a lot of pollen in each.

Right when the lights go off I'll turn off the fans and take a lower branch and slide the bag over the head and tie off with a twisty. I'll leave the bag on for a full dark cycle shaking it a couple of times during this period. When lights come on I'll mist the plants then carefully pull the bags. I generally get a few stray seeds in the other buds but not many.

Pollen sacs will get longer like bananas and fatter with little ribs then just one day they pop just like popcorn and you'll see a dump of yellow on the leaf below.

Very helpful. I took off a couple of the sacks from the agent orange today just to check them out. I sliced them open with a razor but there was no pollen. The were just mushy. Im just afraid theyll start popping before i catch them. I need another room .

But ill keep posting pics so i might be able to have some help spotting them right before they pop.

If you have the males in the same room and pollen sacs start to pop you will have a fully seeded crop quick. Usually, the seeds will look different with different crosses but not always so you might be able to get away with spreading pollen on certain branches and then sorting the majority that look alike after harvest. But, I wouldn't bank on it.

I like the idea of chopping some branches and letting them open in a bag outside the grow. That is tricky though, you want them to be just short of popping before you bag them.

Exactly what im worried about. I definitely dont want a fully seeded crop. And seeing as i havent grown a male before, i think I'm playing russian roulette.

Ill just have to figure out a seperate space to put the males. As for the lighting, does it really matter that much? I mean could i use minimal lighting ( cfls ) ? This wont effect the time it takes to produce pollen or affect tge the quality ?

I use a spare closet for the males with about 60 true watts of cfls. It won't effect quality but it will slow them down a bit especially if it will be a lot colder. I usually leave them in the flower room as long as I can then transfer. I would say yours look ready to transfer asap.

I dont know if you already have a cfl hood or not but the easiest cheapest way to do it is with a power strip some plug in socket adapters and y splitters, zip ties and a piece of ducting for the hood. Here is a pic that shows the idea.

Any lighting will work with the male at this point, even sunlight if you can put him in a window. and it shouldn't take them more than 7 to 10 days till they start to pop from the looks of them
