Texas weighs allowing open carry of handguns

I mean, think about it. Wouldn't a plain-clothes man with a big long gun in Target kinda scare you in this day and age?

Or at least can't you imagine how many people could be scared, even if you wouldn't be?

I live in an open carry state. Once the hype wears off most carriers go concealed any ways.
I open carry sometimes. Cops do not have a problem with it here. It is in our states constitution.
There are 4 states that allow concealed carry with out a permit.
Cops I talked to around here are cool with open carry. We might get a vote to carry concealed without permit.

You know you can still get a permit to buy fully automatic weapons and another to build them.
Silencers are legal to.

When is the last time one of those was used in a crime?

I guess there are situations where open carry might work. But I can't imagine it would work here where I live.

The whole point is that people carrying rifles into every-day stores is understandably disruptive in the many places where such has never been seen. That's a real problem, which has nothing to do with the philosophical ideas related to guns.

When you see people do you get fearful? no, but when you see a gun you get scared, even knowing that an inanimate object cannot load, cock and pull the trigger by itself, yet you still have a fear of it.
