ok, i've only done a few soil grows but i'd say that since your just starting these seeds that you might want to transplant them into smaller containers. i'm thinking that might be why your moisture meter says it dry. once you water them all the water runs down to the bottom and since the plants are still young they dont have that big of a root system to get the water. plus if you have smaller containers you will allow for more air circulation to keep the temps down. you might wanna raise the lights a couple inches also. other than that i'd say they're looking good!

So you think I need to go back to the smaller cups? I put them in large pots because they did not look good and the paper cups I had them in were not holding up. Also the book from see more buds put them in to pots. But he was using those cubes from the hydroponics store. That probably makes a difference. Next time I am going to use those too. When will I be able to put them in the larger pots? Thanks for the advice.

i'd say to put them in some of those plastic, red, dixie cups and put some holes in the bottom for drainage. as the roots develope then you can move to a bigger container. when you say you moved them to bigger containers cause they werent looking good what were they looking like? i am using the rapid roots plugs also and they work great, but im also doing hydro too. what type of soil are you using? the fox farm ocean forest is amazing in my opinion. if ya got any questions just let me know and i'll try to help ya out. good luck!

DONT transplant them, it will do nothing but shock them. First of all, you need a fan that keeps air moving in there. A perfect place for one would be on that unused shelf in between the two layers of plants. Shove it in there facing up, and it will take the air from the lower part and blow it up through the top plants. That will help cooling first of all. You will NOT have to get a portable AC unit for a CFL grow, that is just ridiculous. You need to have a fan bringing air INTO that area at the floor level, a fan moving air through the grow area on the shelf like I said, and then a fan moving the hot air AWAY near the ceiling. A bigger shot of the area would be useful, and I could tell you exactly where to place the fans for best ventilation. Also, get rid of those little dinky fans, they dont do anything. You need lots of air movement, get big fans that move a lot of air and you will be fine. Those little things are useless unless you are growing in a rubbermade or something like that.
