Hello RIU! Ive been offline for some time growing without documenting my last two grows. I decided to start another grow journal, because it is always helpful to document the progress and it is fun! I picked up two Tahoe OG clones from Progressive Options. I was told I had to wait for 5 weeks, but just got a call last night saying that they would release a couple clones to me! I am going to do a SCROG this time around, so sit back and enjoy! Here is the details of my setup:

4x4 Secret Jardin DR120
2 500W Blackstar LED (power draw approx. 320 each)
2 Tahoe OG Kush clones from Progressive Options
House and Garden Nutrients
Sunshine Mix #4 soiless mix
5 gallon Smart pots
2 clip on Air Kings for Ventilation
4 inch 165 CFM fan pulling heat
4 inch Carbon Filter Lite
7,000 BTU Windchaser AC
2x3 SCROG screen from Home Depot

I am planning to top my clones to get a nice bushy even canopy before it hits my SCROG screen which is going to be setup about 9-10 inches above my smart pots. Today was Veg Day 1. I fed my girls based on House and Garden's nutrient calculator. My Carbon Filter will be installed tomorrow when I pick it up.

Today I picked up my 4 inch can lite carbon filter and set that up. I also setup my SCROG screen today 9 inches above the smart pots. Both clones made it thru the night. The bigger and stronger clone is kicking ass right away with new growth already forming and the fan leaves are reaching for the light. The other clone, is weaker and is in shock from the transplant. Hope it pulls thru over the next couple days... I know the bigger clone was a little more well rooted than the smaller one. If the little runt doesn't start perking up, I might have to put a bag over her to increase humidity. Hope she makes it thru.

So this morning I woke up at lights on at 6am, and was dreading the worse. I was wondering if that lil runt would make it thru the night, or would I find the remains of a dehydrated dead clone. To my surprise she was not only still hanging on, but she actually perked up! At lights out, her fan leaves were a few millimeters from completely touching the soil! I checked the soil around the clones and they were dry! So I guess watering 1 gallon is not enough? I had to feed again today 1 gallon each. I will plan to wait two more days and start watering maybe a gallon and a half. Anyways, after the watering today, the little runt and her big sister were basking in their new Led home.

So today was a good day. The little runt actually made a great comeback today, and grew a good amount! She went from drooping and almost dead, to actually recovering and growing a little bit taller! Here are some pics of the clones at lights out. My temperatures have been as low as 73 degrees to 77 degrees at the hottest today. It has been cool weather here in LA, so that must be helping out! Good night folks.

Subbed and Best of Luck with your grow Sleezy1. This is gonna be a long haul type of journal huh? How long are you planning on vegging for?

And I like that little A/C unit you got there. I've gotta look into one of those, could be perfect for me. 7000BTU! Damn!

And one other question, are you going to box or muffle that fan you use for venting hot air? That must be kinda loud, no?

Thanks for subbing FranJan! This is going to be a very long haul journal! I figured I wouldn't get much action until flower time! I guess this journal is more for me, to compare the progress of each plant. I am planning to Veg about 6 weeks, or when the SCROG screen is 80% full. I know this Tahoe strain likes to stretch, so it might be sooner or a little later. Really depends on the screen being filled

You like that AC unit huh? Its a perfect find! Unfortunately, I was searching the internet and the company "Windchaser" is going bankrupt. I found 35 units at my local "Genie Air" store in Van Nuys. They have a website you can order the unit from. I think it cost me $193 for this 7,000 BTU AC. It is awesome! The 5 inch ducting that comes out of it is a little challenge finding 5 inch ducting for my tent. I ordered that from Home Depot, but had to zip tie the ducting, cuz there was no 5 inch clamps I could find. At the end, everything worked out just fine, with my temps averaging between 73-76 degrees.

I was planning on muffling that 165 CFM exhaust fan, but my gf says she loves the sound! How weird is that? She thinks it is soothing and helps her sleep. It actually isn't THAT loud... but I could get a silencer later on if it bothers me. It is on 24/7 creating negative pressure in the tent when lights are off and the AC is off. Perfect little setup this time around. Thanks for subbing for the long journey ahead! Hopefully your patience will pay off at the end!

Sorry for the terrible Iphone pics! My camera wont upload my pictures, so I had to resort to my Iphone 5. Not much to report. The little babies are still adapting to the 2 500w Blackstars. My environment is perfect, a little too low on the humidity side, but my temperatures today have been 73 and 75 degrees. Tried putting my AC on low and temps hit 79, so back on high.

Subbed. Very clean setup. I'll be interested to see how the dual Blackstars perform in flower. Good luck!

Hello there Sleazy1,

Been reading your journals for quite a while now, before you even had 2 Blackstars and milksprays became your friend:)

Subbed up and ready to go with ya. I have utilized the knowledge I have learned from you to begin my first LED-only grow myself.

Looking forward to this one. I grew Tahoe OG and it is some of the best I have ever had. Very fast, stretchy, strong growth with fat colas. I four-topped mine.

Sup Snafu! Long time no see! Thanks for stopping by. There isn't much action yet, but I am sure this grow should be my best yet! Goodluck on your LED grow! It has been a trial and error run for me with my setup, but I think I have all the issues down now. I have the proper environment this time, the right temps, etc. I thought I could get away with just small fans for ventilation using LEDs, but now I am using an inline fan for exhaust, I bought an AC unit to blow in cold air, and of course oscillating and dehumidifier. No more PM, milk sprays, and Serenade for me! I even bought a carbon filter for once! New setup and new tent with all that I have learned from LED growing. I am 100% confident that LED technology can grow some dank buds, that has never been the issue from all my previous grows. My main issues was Heat stress, and bad genetics. I solved my environment issues, and I found the best genetics at Progressive Options. This Tahoe is fire! So if anything goes wrong this time around, its all me! No Excuses this time!

Im doing a SCROG with this stretchy strain, and I know it will definitely help with my yield and support. No more staking this time around! Goodluck with your future grow!

So today I finally can say that the girls are all settled in and rooted. I can tell because now I am getting a good spurt of new growth on the lil babies. Days 4-7 showed slow growth, and I thought it could be due to the low temp (73 degree) and the low humidity ( as low as 20%). This probably made the little girls work hard to root, but I am hoping for some good growth now. Today in LA it finally has gotten warmer, from 50 degrees....Thats cold here! My tent temperature increased a good amount today hovering at 79 degrees from 12pm-4pm. RIght now the temperature is dropping in the tent with sundown. I am at 78 degrees and probably get as low as 74 before lights out. Temps are manageable now, but I am worried about the summertime when it gets as hot as 110 degrees in the Valley.

Fed the ladies yesterday week 2 nutes from the nutrient calculator. Raised my SCROG screen from 8 inches to 12 inches, because I can't get under it to work at 8 inches! It going to take me more time Vegging, but with patience I will get there. I was planning to top my ladies, but since the extra vegging I have to do now....I might just let her go to fill up the screen. If I top, it might stunt her growth a while, and take even longer! Ideally, I would have a vegg room in the future where I can top numerous times and clone...That is in the works for the future.

I also figured out my camera is not working, and I bought an Olloclip lens for my Iphone 5. They have numerous lenses, wide angle, fish eye, and macro. I really bought it from the wide angle lens and the marco lens to get close up on those buds. The flash still sucks on my IPHONE 5, so I am planning to use a flashlight to get some light on the plants. I did it on these pics. still kinda crappy pics..

Nice! I just finished a Chemdawg 91 last round! Dank shit! I can totally tell its the daddy of the OG. I keep hearing about Girl Scout cookies...Cherry Pie and OG Kush? Progressive Options just started carrying it. Is it any good? I personally only smoke OG Kush.. I need to try other strains...lol.

Here are some pics at lights out. The girls are all wet and wild because I sprayed House and Garden Magic Green at lights out. The little one is making a comeback today, really catching up to the bigger sister. The pics don't do them justice because they are all wet and droopy. Goodnight!

Got my new lenses for my Iphone 5, so I wanted to test them out on the girls. The Fisheye lens is my favorite! I measured the ladies today, the little one caught up to the bigger one and now is 7 inches tall. The bigger girl is only 8 inches tall. They are both about 7 inches away from the screen. Hopefully we can start SCROGGING soon!
