T5-ho zonie style

This is my third round and this time I got some good genetics. I planted vanilla kush, top dog, wild thai, blackberry, and super skunk. I am using femized seeds from a friend. This is what my set up looks like and I will be updating this thread on a weekly basis with photos of my 5 girls. Hope people like this thread.

Yes I am gonna flower with the t5 I hope to add three more spectrums in the next month or less. The last time I flowered I got okay results but I'm a noob so I have no baseline data to compare. +rep thanks for posting in my thread!

I use a 1000W HPS but I always wanted to buy those red spectrum bulbs for my T5 I figured the extra light couldnt hurt..
 
I'm like beaver. Using the 1000w but I've always had good results with cfls. Really it comes down to what you know and how you grow it. Your system looks pretty nice so I'm thinking you will be fine. The only thing you don't have that we will have is yield. Ha ha but potency is right up there. + rep to you too sir.

Yeah I have a couple friends who use CFL's I think because they are cheap but hey I cant knock a dude for trying to save some cash especially this day in age. They do a pretty good job too the yields arent like mine and the buds are fluffier but I like to use a rule of thumb" Different tokes for different folks" What works for others may not work for you.
 
For sure! the only reason I went with this rig is that it made it so that I didn't have to buy a fan to move hot hair. I had this epiphany that involves aquarium lighting and I found a guy who has a thread about growing using t5's and certain bulbs https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/358190-led-without-leds-my-first.html. Honestly, I would like to try and find out what it is about HPS that makes plants perform apparently better when compared with other lighting methods (minus plasma lights... those things are the shit). If it came down to it I think I would get me a 600 watt HPS anything bigger would be too much for the space I have. If I won the lottery I'd buy that Chameleon Solar Genesis VI plasma/LED light http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zh8rlrSksxQ. I will never dis on HID growers because the proof is in the pudding as far as HID lighting goes.

it comes down to light intensity which equates to a farther light penetration. this equates to a larger "sweet spot" where the best buds develop. you can replicate the spectrum of an hps but not its intensity. you would make back the price of the fan with your increase in yield in your first harvest. look online for good deals on fans you dont have to spend $200 on a can fan or anything like that. look on ebay i have bought quality fairly priced fans there.
 
In all honesty man if you ever feel like upgrading come to the indoor nature store. It's a small hydro shop that I used to shop at but now I work there ha ha. We beat anyones price in town guaranteed! Right now a 600w bulb, ballast, and good plus a tent, carbon filter, inline fan, ducting, hangers, etc...basically a full set up for a small space it $730 out the door.

I just might do that. I shop at sea of green and hydroponics depot. I would really like to get a tent and another light so I can have a flower tent.

Yeah dude start pricing Sea of Green is always expensive. Home Grown Depot is cool I was there the other day they are a Titan distributor. I would check out Birds store shop around and plus he's on RIU.
 
I just might do that when I can get the funds together for that... I am always open to equipment donations, lol 8-)

I buy stuff online too even the grow stores here in Phoenix will sell used equipment pretty cheap. I bought my Ebb and Flow tray and reservoir used from Craigslist. Stores will even give you a discount if you are MMJ card holder.
 
Checked on the girls today and we have 1 that sprouted. The first one to sprout is G-13's Super Skunk. Vanilla kush looks like it'll only be another day or two before it sprouts.
 
I'll be posting updated pics with in the next three days. Thanks again for subscribing and watching my third grow.
 
Here's my one week update! I only sprouted 1 out of 5 beans! I can't fucking believe it. I have no idea what happened seeing how I was sick in the hospital for three days but here's the pics. The seed pic is the vanilla kush that I thought was only a day away from sprouting. It has since shriveled up and died. The sprout is Super Skunk. Ya'll might be wondering what is a Zonie to do? I'll tell ya what I am gonna do. A true desert dog don't play his whole hand at once. I still got two more 'name brand' beans (ChemDog and Blue Hash) plus I got plenty of bagseed
