Supergirl to the rescue!

i thought i'd share a grow journal of my latest grow with you good folks on riu. i've spent the last couple of years trying things out and getting my spot together growing some various bagseed that i could get my hands on. i've had some pretty impressive grows and some not so impressive. i've only done dwc so far and i couldn't imagine anything being any easier than this.

my growroom has evolved nicely. i have a 4x4 veg area separated with a shelf so that i can manage both clones/germing plants and a mother plant below. my flowering area is about 4x8. i'll be using fluoros and cfl's for veg and a 600w futurebright digital hps for flower. ecoplus air pumps used for air. nutes will be flora nova liquid super concentrated grow/bloom; advanced nutrients bud blood, big bud and overdrive; hydrozyme. ph maintained at 5.5 - 5.8. hopefully, temps can be maintained between 70 -85.

this is my first grow with anything other than bagseed so i'm pretty excited. i started this grow with a feminized supergirl seeds from nirvana. i only germed one seed because this plant will be used as the mother. germed in moist paper towel and transferred to rockwool cube on wet hydro rocks in humidity dome under 2 ft fluro. plant grew quickly under dome and had to remove to bucket within 4 days.

unfortunately i didn't take any pics during the beginning, but my pics begin here.

1. supergirl approximately 2 weeks from seed transferred to 3 gallon bucket
2. supergirl at 4 weeks
3. supergirl at 6 weeks
4. supergirl roots at 6 weeks

please feel free to comment and stop back by for updates.:weed:

time to transfer clones to buckets to veg under hps! so far so good. only planned on vegging for 1 week, but had to have surgery so vegged for 2 weeks. will update pics tonight.

1. right after transferring clones to buckets
2. about five days after transferring to buckets

Supergirl is a sick plant. Perfect shape and size. Also very tollerant to ppm ph and temp changes.

Good luck with this grow!!! I'm growing the same strain atm but in soil, & due to space, heat & ventilation issues, I'm gonna be doing a full CFL grow. My 2 seeds sprouted 15 days ago & both are about 3" tall & 4" wide. They also have 8 layers of growth. 4 leaf sets growing from the main stem, & each of those have a stem & leaf set sprouting from the crotch (where they meet the main stem). This is my first grow with anything other than bagseed too & my 1st indoor grow ever. Now the question I have is is this....are the results I am having so far typical if this strain? I have never seen bagseed look so healthy & lush after just 15 days....

Again, good luck & best wishes on your grow, I will be following this one !!

that's what i'm wondering too, choppr!! nothing i've grown before even compares to what this plant is doing. i'll probably never grow bagseed again!!

sorry, growthspurt. i would be too lonely without my baby. besides, he's the guard for my grow spot!

thanks for the comments, folks. everything is going along nicely.

detriumls..........i don't know if my cloning method is an approved method, but i came up with this after many failed attempts at taking cuttings. i haven't lost one since i started doing this, so until i find a better method that works for me i'll be sticking to this one.

i found one of those planter trays that fruit/flower seedlings come in at wally world that perfectly fits the bottom tray of my humidity dome. the planter tray already has holes for water to drain thru. i put in a layer of hydroton rocks at the bottom of the squares in the planter tray that i will be using (the tray has a total of 18 squares). i then add ph'd water to the humidity dome tray with the planter tray inside and bring the water level just to the top of the layer of hydroton rocks. i then take the cuttings from the mother plant. i use Supernatural root burst powder to encourage root formation and place the cutting in a rockwool cube (upside down with the big side down). i then just put the cube on the hydroton rocks and add some rocks around it for stability. make sure the cube is low enough in the rocks to get moisture from the water in the tray. then just put on the dome cover and put under 2 ft fluoro. in as little as 3-5 days, i normally have roots then i can transfer to buckets. sometimes i add an air line to the water tray in the humidity dome so the water won't become stagnant, but i've done this without the air line and everything went fine.

like i said, this process works well for me, but i'm not so sure that it's approved by the experts.

Looks like you're doin' everything right for now! Don't worry about your moms, you can take hundreds of babies from her and she'll live for years as long as you keep her healthy and you have the room.

thanks calidreamer!! i'm about to cut moms way back to make room for another mom in my veg spot. think i'll try out some citral this time!

some more pics. these plants are in the 4th week of 12/12. i kinda think i should have topped these girls a second time during veg because they're a little taller than i would like. everything else looks pretty good to me. temps are starting to rise though!
