Sunmaster bulb help.... :-)

Feeling a bit stupid and probably lazy but i was after a new Sunmaster 600w dual spectrum bulb and after googling up shops i found two different branded box types both with the sunmaster logo.

Now im use to the normal green and white box with rainbow coloured sunmaster letters so avoided the other type and ordered this one up. What came was the other type which has a black box with orange trim and a similar but not the same sunmaster logo. The bulb inner workings looked different to.my last as well.

It did seem a tad more orange whrn switched on but that could just be me tbh as i get that with hps bulbs sometimes. The box also had print problems and slightly blurred in places but not bad just not quality.

Id have found sunmaster to be a wider generic name in some companies that make similar products but never had a problem buying a sunmaster dual spec hps for a long time.

Anyone got any answers or help out a middle aged lazy ass grower? :-)

Sounds like a chinese knockoff.

Or a cheap brand using the same name, the packaging had Venture as the owning cimpany but other than that the small orint was too small and blurred.

I actually know very little about sunmaster just tht its my favourite bulb :-)

Well a chinese company isn't liable to suit for making fakes. So I doubt an american company would risk that. But who knows.

Its probably a Chinese Knockoff, I got one like that last year, ordered the rainbow pictured one off amazon, and got a black box with reddish orange lettering / trim, and the package said made by Venture, but the logo on the bulb was all wrong. So I emailed Venture about it and they verified it wasn't one of their bulbs. They said they were aware that some unknown Chinese company called sunburst / globalburst were making knock-offs of many of their popular hid lamps.

LED grows superior cannabis compared to 1950's tech. and diffuse lighting is superior to single point light fixtures.:)

but hey grampa, keep on keeping on. your car probably runs better with leaded fuel too.:)

Hey King, could you remind me in 25 years that my LEDs have reached 100,000 hours so I can replace them?
Thanks in advance! :)

LED's have a big problem nobody talks about. The surface reacts with chemicals in the air, degrading output over time. So I don't think you will be using those in 5 years.

I'm not worried. Cannabis grows without light according to you. :)

"but they do grow in the dark." you, no?

Nope you'll have replaced them when the next fad model comes out and none will ever clock up 100.000 hours or the whole led industry would go bust :-)

Yer the more i try and look the more i feel its just package change, i think i see three different designs over the years now but recently idk wtf with this saturated market.

:-)
Now that's it's legal up here.......its funny how many pink lights you see just driving around. Home depot has a grow light section now........and everyone's and expert grower. It's more than saturated........just like this cbd thing every place has $12 ice tea or dog treats! I just shake my head :wall: sorry for the short rant! LOL
