Sun intensity at altitude

8000+ ft @ 36 degrees north in New Mexico

This happened about 3 weeks ago, in early June. 80F ambient temperature. Direct sun just melts stuff.

These were outside for a couple of hours on the porch, on this table.

Great for cannabis. Just have to deal with a really short season. :-)

in all seriousness, we have 3 people that can't visit us anymore. altitiude sickness.
Wow, that's crazy to me. I live near sea level my whole life. So people get light headed when they come to your place? And plastic melts if you leave it out in the sun. Too much....

goes from light headed to headaches to really serious (like blood pressure severely elevated). certain people it affects way worse. i've never had plastic melt like that though. but i can be outside in a tshirt when it's 32F and sunny here.

I was really surprised it melted like that so quickly. It wasn't really that hot but yeah, UV and intensity off the charts tho.

Car interiors are tough too, but probably not as bad as say, Texas. It gets a lot hotter there than here. We top out at 90-95F in the Summer.
