No insult intended in my last dude! I might suggest Gregg Green's Breeders Bible as a starting place...

Interesting X choices......The idea of medical breeding would be to focus on strains that have what your looking for in them. I'm sure some are better at one then another and you may want to find a happy equilibrium between the things you want in one plant , right?

You might start by working one trait out and then the other. You could then attempt to bring those traits together by breeding the others results. This will be a long term commitment....maybe as long as 5 or more years to the end result of a combination plant result.....Could even run longer. The learning will be fun and even with your limited work space, you can do what you set out to!

I see questions about breeding by many NOT looking to do what you intend - "A good reason to attempt it"...
I wince at those as many will just cross things willy nilly and get crappy genetic results - hand them out to friends and begin a crappy genetic line that's unstable and can spread those shitty gene's, even unintentionally.

You sir, have a valid reason and sounds like your working to learn how properly. I didn't see that in your first question.
Take a look at Mendel and get familiar with his results in how traits pass along. You should begin to be able to see what your looking for as far as moving traits along. The time comes in popping and growing to discover what traits you got, finding "the one" and backing that to stabilize. Then you repeat with the others to bring out and stabilize that....Next is your last step goal of crossing those to get the "mix" trait your looking for.

The more you can pop and run to find the "one".....The faster your quest shall succeed. There will be failures and success's in each crossing. Be patient!

Sorry to "brush" you off like that. I would have been more inclined to a real answer if I knew why then.....I have now.
Drop a line if you like....I'll be away the 28th to the 5th - State Trap shooting Championships 28th - 3rd and family time over the 4+5th

Doc
I appreciate that Doc and I'm glad you haven't taken offence. I've read a bit on Mendel and inherited traits in subsequent generations and I will revisit that again.
I know its a long term plan and am not just in it to pass of rubbish in order to sell on the street & make money, just looked up some of these 'medical breeders' a got a shock at some of the prices they want for their beans & thought I could do similar or better. Saves on money & occupies my mind in a totally absorbing hobby.
I have to say, I can understand it when someone comes on and posts 'How do I plant a seed' then get hissy when people start to take the piss, read plenty of them on here. !.
Cheers and thanks.....

No prob Mon!

Yeah I did a 3+ year jaunt on a higher CBD medical that was a near all sativa genetic goal (No "couch lock" motivated traits). Ended up quite happy with the results. 2 distinct pheno's that only have a variation in the THC/CBD potency trait. #1 runs about even at 10-11 THC and 9-10 CBD and the other (#2) is more like 10 THC and 7-8 CBD.

ODDLY THE #2 is the one I could not grow enough of! Other disp. in the Capitol area of the state wanted it faster then I could put it out. I ended up selling the strain outright to a heavy hitter from that area. The #1 is still mine and gets a lot of medical use in my area. I have several colleagues that are doing the "work" and medical distribution while I "pay my debt to society"....I had overseas help with that one as I didn't have the space for that size a project with another going at the same time....

The low THC basis was a commercial hemp plant strain with a higher CBD count, supplied buy a sympathetic College grad student (overseas)..

I'm impressed with you patience in achieving that & your results. I'm in the UK & grow only for myself. It's still frowned on by the law, but if you have 9 plants or less, you aren't seen as a commercial grower. Needed a good weed to help with my neck, spondylosis & sleeping. I found a Mazar that was very promising, but, old story, didnt take a cutting & regretted it.
I'm interested in landrace/IBL strains as I've found a lot of the Dutch genetics have been f****d up due to commercial growers wanting a quick buck. They dont even wait until its dry never mind a good cure.
