Striking out with seeds

Ok I won’t be doing that. But is it possible that somehow all however many hundred of seeds I just harvested are some how defective or just not fully ready even if they’re dark with stripes ?
If they weren’t cracking at all I would be suspicious but since they are cracking and then dying I think you have other issues such as damping off. How deep are you planting them? In the first two pics it looks like I can see the taproot visible on top of the soil.

Hey bud, I have 0 issue with this method so maybe try this. The coco starter pellets work great and don't have all the other stuff your Royal Gold has stuck in them. Get a germination station with heat pad. I use the paper towel method, pop seeds with tap root into coco plug with very light nutes, like 25% strength and leave on pad. When seeds sprout take the dome off and away they go. Remember to charge the coco you are going to transplant into with the same 25% nutes you charged plug with so there is no change in what the plant intakes. This is what works for me every time, doesn't cost much and the heated pad helps. I use a Vivosun one which as a temp sensor and thermostat but you don't need to go that fancy. Good luck.

I plant them a few about a inch deep I just dug that one up to see what was taking the seed so long

In the summer I would just drop the seed in the pot and 3 maybe 4 days later I have a sprout, I didn’t take the change of weather and humidity into consideration

Yoooo I’m not sure what’s going on but I have successfully germinated at least 20 seeds out of 23 in dirt but lately I’ve been experimenting with coco to avoid the bugs and mainly the smell of dirt but I’ve had at 7 seeds so far all except 2 that I’m still waiting on have failed to germinate. These are all seeds from my last grow, mostly dark with stripes, I drop the seed in a glass of water it cracks open and then I put it in soil something is not working now
Give them time to germinate. What I do is wet a paper towel and put the seeds into it. Put it into a bag for like 3 days until my taproot is about 1/2 inch to an inch. I have 100% germination rates

I honestly feel better about these seeds sprouting then the pound I just grew. Only because they are my very own creations/ accident.
Do some Pheno testing! Cut several clones of each female Pheno and name them! The plant that yields the most, grow the clones and cut them into more to breed with. If you hold onto a strain for a while, you typically learn the plant better and know what to do to increase yields! I’m going to be doing that with my gelato 41

Man I need a bigger house and a green house. The only thing I had room for was 4 seeds in solo cups.About 4 months from now tho when I clear up space that’s the goal but I got at least 10 strains I’m gonna cross this week so that should be 2000 or more new seeds to play with

I’ve been thinking about getting a regular pack of seeds just so I can have a male really start messing with genetics in due time tho in due time

It's probably just bad luck or when you water your dumping the seed deep into the coco mix. I had my brother & sister & law just hatch 20 seeds and 18/20 sprouted and are showing shoots in Mother Earth 70/30 coco/perlite with plain RO water. Could be your environment or possibly you watered and they sunk.

Space is always an issue man but when you have more space you gotta start investing in commercial environmental controls like $2000 Dehumidifiers and $3000 air conditioners.. I learned this the hard way when I expanded my basement from grow tents to full blown warehouse style.

Your spot on the I did notice the seeds were way deeper when I dug them up then I originally buried them so I fixed that this go around and I’m starting to notice now that I do need real equipment my central air is not gonna cut it I can’t really dial things in like I could when my plants were half the size
