Street lights interfering with flowering plants? am i just too hi?

i was thinkin about it the other day and street lights illuminate the spot where the ladies are, am i just over reacting or do you guys think that it could interrupt theyre light/dark cycles? idk what kind of lights are used in a street light, probly a pretty powerful one but if im just bein stupid let me know.
 
You are correct, anything brighter than a full moon will mess up your flowering cycle. Some plants will even flower on one side and not the other side under the street light.
 
dont grow where there are street lights; there 10x more likely to be found

i know of someone who grew with a light stole from a streetlight. i thing there like 150w MH bulbs or something
they wouldnt have much intensity at 20 ft from bulb to plant, but it probably would fuck with your flowering cycle
 
hmm.. i guess ill just have to shoot it out lol no ones really on my street.
and there are bushes in the way of street view, but if a utility worker climbed up there to replace a bulb he might spot em =/ hopefully he smokes i might just have to take em inside during the PM
 
Yes bro they would mess wit ur cycle like gardenmaster said anything brighter then a full moon will interfear also streets I'd have to say on average are like 175 to 200 hps bulbs actually perfect for growing and if ur plants are close enough that the can get light from the street light then ur chances of getting caught increases once ur plant really starts smelling all you need is one person who doesn't belive in the use of mj and that's it busted but questin
 
i have a general eletrical ballast its actually a 400watt Hps i have a 250watt haps that i re wired and hooked up till my plants are ready for the 400wat hps i got from home depote 24 bucks but here what it looks like

its a old ballast but thoes things alst forever! it will short out if you have alot pluged up but i found the circuit where the electricity was touching the spart i just bended it a little so that it wouldnt do that and its been working completely fine idk if this i what u were looking for but i figure id help

Full moon on a clear night = .27 lux or .025 foot candles or .025 lumens / sq ft.

Lets assume your street light is a 250 W HPS = 25,000 lumens at 30cm

Using the inverse square law (I1/I2) = (R2/R1)^2

(25000/.025) = (R2/30)^2

R2 = 30,000cm or 984 feet

what if it was 100 watt?
it'd be 18,973 cm or 622 feet?

this plant is across the street from a street lamp (orange one) & flowers just fine. this same plant is also located in one of the most light polluted places on the planet where we can't see the stars at night. <shrug>yeah, maybe the flowers could be better/bigger</shrug>

streetlights here are 150 watt hps's, you can buy exact same as the city uses at a few random farm supply stores around here, i know a few people who grow with them and have decent results aswell
 
so really i should just take them and put them in a purely dark closet at night, because even if they are outside at night theres so much light pollution its interfering with my ladies? but then id have to wake up at 6 am to take em outside =/
