Omg delicious

This time I promised myself no chopping early, I hurt one plant yield and quality by doing so on my first grow.
Thundercat helped me to see that my brachts weren’t really swoll up good when I thought they were. I was routinely chopping a week or two early. Tested a quick oven dried lower bud from this fully ripe plant and it blows the last run out of the water already. Same strain but it’s a lot different now. Really looking forward to it drying

Ya TC tried warning/helping me too lol.

took one mistake of a early chopped plant to make me open my eyes. I prob still chopped the other 3 early by some growers standards but even so, those 3 plants all yield nice and smoked so much better than the early chop, this next run tho, i promise myself to not let it happen.

First time I’ve got the clusters of brachts that make such tight balls. Looks like seeds in places but isn’t. More frost..a lot more terpenes and lots of denseness in the last few weeks I was missing out on.

Yep, all the things you just mentioned were lacking on my first crop, i can only blame it on grower error. chopping plants early. Lights, environment and nutes were all legit, so it had to be the chop

Your buds on that Cheese look so swollen and frosty, beautiful job man

Thanks man. It’s Dinafems Deep cheese which is cheese x cheese but I get a little blue cheese smell in there sometimes when I smell it. Definitely a deep cheese smell so the name is fitting

Looking pretty good but I would say at least a week more or two.
That wild pistil action going on shows it’s still growing.

You will regret it if you chop too soon .... forget the flushing ( it just strips medium ).
Start a “ wind down “ in feed ( less ) so plant can pull from itself and exhaust what it has stored. Forget the triches on fans and trim .... just the bud.

Let it ride.
yea im still trying to figure out if i want to experiment with flushing or continue feeding i mean i heard about both and all that just wanted to experiment see how end results come out. so far though i just been feeding heavily then trying to leech it out the next few waterings.

as for my plants compared to danjac's yea mine look like they got a few more to go. i started to look more at the lower kola's they kind of look airy to me like they didn't even bulk up yet. it is getting harder to wait for them to finish but shit i waited an entire week without chopping it up so far and they got more weight alone so im sure another week or 2 of waiting won't kill me. just flustered with the learning aspect when it comes to flowering but meh.. over time i'll get used to judging and all that and making better decisions so not too worried.

got to do some research on how to dry them slowly as well idk if it was due to chopping my last grow early thus why it tastes like shit and dried fairly quickly but i'll try figure some stuff out when it gets closer to that

I’ve noticed a lot of guys judging the color of the ash and saying the flush was responsible. Good flush =white ash. That’s just a myth. A good cure is where it’s at. Best tasting bud I’ve grown was fed til the end and dried slow

i don't judge ash color but what i mean about flushing in my terms is you guys are all experienced growers compared to me so you pretty much know how to feed correctly give or take. the way i feed is way too much and typically too often. over my growers it gets better as i can better judge the feeding and what might be too much or too often so i try to leech medium so not to get a super harsh taste but im going to see how the feeding went. i mean for the most part overall i would say i did good for my skills only big issue i got going on that im concerned about is why my pheno 3 has super clawed leaves and twisting leaves and a bunch of other issues that look nutrient related. it's so far into the grow to not really bother me so much but for future purposes i would like to know reasoning. it just started happening more recently i think it has to deal with temp of the water though pretty much think i fried the shit out of my roots by dumping 84-86F water on um from outside.

Gotcha..yea I’m still working on things in flower. There’s some adjustments I can make toward the end for sure. I’m not sure what would taste different with a plant that wasn’t flushed. I don’t see how salts from ferts or anything could build up in buds and different things I’ve heard of. sounds sketchy to me. If there was build up in buds it would take a hell of a longer time to flush it out. You’d have to flush to the point of sugar leaves fading off..basically flush it to death and idk what that would do. Lol. I’m not so sure theres any logic behind it. Seems to be stoner bro science.

salt build up in the medium not buds XD. imma be testing out both ways in the future to see what happens. i am looking at pheno 3 the sugar leaves are looking weird too they are starting to fade to yellow from the outside in. looks like PH issues maybe feeding too much idk never had any issues with PH until now. i know i need to calibrate my pen for though though

You are correct total stoner broscience. Zero real science that supports flushing at harvest. Removing nutrients from the medium will just cause the plant to suck them out of the leaves and still direct them towards growing new buds. Growing healthy plants to full maturity, and then drying them slowly is what creates the best tasting, smelling, and smoking buds period. You don't need to cure anything or use fancy hygrometers or boveda packs. Those are all crutches to fix problems that only exist because you did something else wrong along the way(usually cutting early or drying to fast).

I've tried most of this stuff over the last 13 years. I stopped doing most after enough experiments to prove to me it was pointless wastes of time and energy. Let alone the money on extra stuff that was totally unneeded.

I havn't cured a single bud in years because once I learned to dry properly the weed never got any better, and it never lasted long enough. When people that have no clue I grew the weed are raving about it I think I did ok.

yea im just after taste now i mean working towards it i think my drying process will get fucked up this grow but imma try something a little more different to slow it down

Why always trying something different when you havn't even tried to get the basic old school techs down? People have been drying weed slowly for hundreds of years..... It doesn't require anything fancy or any special techniques.

I'm all for experiments, but its even more important to figure out the basics so you can have something to judge against.

its not really different it's just a better way of drying the old way. last time i dried in my room in direct sunlight as i had no where to dry it otherwise. this time im drying it in my tent so it's an enclosed and fully dark area hopefully it should dry a lot slower i will also be drying it for a longer time as well last time i pulled off too early

LMAO you aren't doing anything different or better, but its cute you tell yourself these things. You weren't supposed to be drying in the sunlight in the first place. Everyone recommends drying in the dark.

im not talking about hobby wise "community wise" as in different im speaking about personal experience. yes i know it is best to grow in dark thus what i meant that it is better for MYSELF and different compared to what i was previously doing. like i said i had no where to put the harvest at the time i had 2 grows going on no where to dry the one i harvested besides my bathroom which was humid as fuck and would have likely caused mold.

if i talk about like doing things better or different or anything along that im talking about my personal experiences not contributions to the community. i have no experience to be speaking on those terms lmfao

i figured seems like a lot of people take my wordings differently so i gotta explain XD but yea i think this new way should be better for my curing process. i believe i have photo's of how i used to cure my last grow i'll take some pics before and after with the 2 and post just so people can see
