Strains on the Brain! Need Recs!

S'up, guys! Sorry I haven't been around lately, I've been rather busy with this and thats, as well as other mild-to-moderately pleasant things...

I come to you with a question, one I think you can answer with confidence!

My best buddy, here, just got approved for a medical cannabis card for his back problems. We're still in the process of filing paperwork, but otherwise we're good to go. There's just one thing...

What kind of strain would best benefit him? There's a ton to choose from. Now, he's not a novice pot smoker, and knows that he's not messin' around... and he also has a specific sort of buzz he's looking for.

"I'm looking for a heavy, heavy body buzz but evened out with a 'chipper' sort of head buzz. Strobe vision. Yeah."

He's got chronic pain, so that's a consideration too. What strains are good for that sort of thing? Also, mild depression and anxiety ... so nothing that'd bring 'em down too low or wind him up too high.

Noodle that one for me and get back to me? THANKS GUYS!!! PEACE!!!! :bigjoint:

a more indica heavy strain just in general.
The headiness is more a sativa trait.
The time the herb was actually picked even makes a difference because trichomes and "type of buzz" seem to be linked pretty closely as well.

I would suggest an Indica dominant strain, but im sure you're friend would also like to be able to function so maybe an 80% Indica 20% Sativa, get the good body buzz, but that extra pep with the sativa, I'm not sure of medical strains, but I would go with that kind of ratio

Altho a more indica dominant strain sounds good, I would definitely suggest Jack Herer.

"The trait common to all Jack Herer phenotypes is a dazzling double-edged potency - a stratospheric cerebral high underpinned by a breathtaking body-buzz with seismic power. Smokers should be prepared to feel the earth shake beneath their feet - which can be a very pleasant feeling when your head is firmly in the clouds."

That's pushing it but it should give u an approximation of the feeling lol. It's also a very uplifting high and doesn't make u any less productive :)

Hope this helps.

Cheers :joint:

I think you should stick with a proven winner like Northern Lights.

That strain has become almost perfected over the years and is easy to grow and produces well. That strain get's me str8 stoned at first then smooths out and won't leave me tired.

That or there are tons of strains that have NL bread into them.

I just finished up on my Church grow and that reminds me a lot of NL. Good body buzz and does not put me to sleep, comes on really strong at first, then smooths out to a good social effect :)

I think the two suggestions of jack herer, and northern lights are what I would have said as well. Ive smoked both strains and they are indeed very strong and very very good. I dont have experience using it medicinally but the body high is very good, I think it would work for chronic pain.

Btw, glad to see you back around. :weed::joint:

Thanks for the recs, guys! He really appreciates it. We've got a meeting with his caregiver (re: the dude who will grow the pot for him) on Friday. He has to wait until his card gets to him in the mail, which should take about two weeks as the state is backlogged at the moment, but he's still well on the road to getting that medical bud. ^______^

Got a lot of other shit to take care of, but that's other shit. This is weed. which is good.

okay I'm done babbling now. XD
