Strainly.io - sort of a social seedbank

Oh my God, strainly admin are such pieces of shit. Now they've accused me of being a scammer. I legitimately send what I said I sent, three packs of Green Point seeds, and it is currently in the mail. Apparently, they don't think I had a legitimate reason to be concerned when as soon as the other trader received my tracking number he dropped off the face of the Earth for 24 hours when he had responded to every one of my messages before that within 5 minutes. Also, when I checked the tracking number he gave me this morning it was not in the USPS system. But, strainly, actually calling me a scammer is the last straw. Fuck them. When this guy receives my package on Monday and it has in it what I said it has in it I'm going to go off on them like there's no tomorrow. And I will be sure to let everyone know about it
They banned my account. Without notice or explanation. I only figured it out because I happened to go to the site and saw I didn’t have access anymore. I still get their fucking emails though.

I’m guessing I got banned because I posted a listing with multiple strains. Listen, if I’m trying to get rid of multiple packs of seeds and I’m only interested in selling them all at once, I’m not going to make a separate listing for every single pack. It’s asinine.

I believe what Strainly is trying to do is valuable. But the implementation is bad. There’s little moderation, the UI is horrific, and half the listings get their genetics wrong or are tied to previous scammers.

if you been watching awhile, its obvious now the unofficial good guys and some other IG banks that were getting nailed on IG were and are using strainly under invidual or made up names, now it looks like they've either gotten found out and fixed, more or less, or some of them have. Sneaky bastids ova there, lol.

I have tried using Strainly. Like others, I was hopeful it would be a cool thing, but the user interface was so difficult I gave up

I think that the reason Strainly does not revamp to make the site more user-friendly is b/c they just launched the site to build it up and sell the website. That's my guess anyway

met some cool cats and not had but one bad experience and that was with the guys changing names and networking with other guys and you can watch their strains and see whatsup with that. Other than that, I see real breeders using it now more and more, so there must be more postitives than negatives. I seem to have no trouble navigating or anything over there, etc .JME

I emailed them asking if their .io was tracking me and storing me browsing there site and they gave a bitchy email. Just trying to ask a straight up question I think they have to legally tell me the truth and they said they were not so that is cool. Might use this site for some genetic trading and let u guys no.

You have to look at it like eBay sellers - there's more than just reviews. Most of the legit sellers have and can be linked elsewhere. Sadly the only way that the riffraff can be found is through the same thing as eBay. Someone has to be a first, but it does not contain a clause for a guaranteed refund like that eBay disclosure. I have been pretty fortunate with the site but I did get good direct advice on who to get cuts and seeds from that I actually want.. There's a good amount of generic genetics to avoid also..

Concept is cool, and a great place for amateurs to sell and trade stock..so A+++ for that. I have never had a problem on there but have heard nightmares from others that I have personally talked to over there. He is my number 1 complaint...No security... I mean fucking none..anyone can make an account with a fake email and phone number. ANYONE.... that may include scammers , police , feds, you name it.
At some point buying , selling or trading your going to cough up your personal info to someone ( you hope) is legit. The lack of security is actually quite scary.

That’s horseshit for sure.

I agree with you entirely. Your observations are spot on and flat correct.

Their overblown filter menu is fucking ludicrous on mobile.

Nevertheless, I want to buy, sell, and trade some shit there because I know there are some legit accounts I can count on...supposedly. Is everything a scam now, am I doing it wrong by being an honest sort? I honestly wonder sometimes, but I will also die without a lot of guilt or regret, so I think that’s worth it.

Any of you RIU chumps still have an active account over there?

10000% bullseye brother man! There are times I'm hesitant but I make sure to ask specific questions a non LEO would know. I wonder if Strainly plans on stepping up their security? I read from Strainly there's a law stating if the plant/cuts has less than a ___% of THC, it's considered legal (hemp) I'll have to dig it up

<=0.3% THC is considered hemp, Federally speaking. A few states like Idaho, for example, are now lagging behind Federal law in their interpretation of that.

It's pure unregulated market capitalism. I found the closest autos to me and found someone with feedback sent 21 bux for a few we'll see what happens it's not rocket science.

So for the first time ever I had viable seeds that were plump (but seemed particularly dry, he said they're 6 months old or so) that did not crack open in RO water or paper towel. He said it works in soil, so after 2 seeds pooped I put one in 1/4" of organic MG performance (black bag supposedly for weed?) and put it in my tent covered and after 3 days it popped right out with the Cotyledons.

I usually test seeds by seeing them crack open as they float back up after 24 hrs (so they don't drown IME) in RO -but not this one!
Anyone have experience with this?
These are Fruity Pebbles "OG" IBL Autos.

Should out to the breeder https://www.strainly.io/en/josel who told me these just seem to germ in soil I'll be getting some more from him later for sure.
