Creativity has to come from inside... Or you seek out inspiration in something that means alot to you.

Or challenge yourself to just pic a random topic (flick through an encyclopedia) then research it to build up a story.

Sometimes when I know I need the practice I literally open up a black page on Notepad/TextEdit and stare at it until I start writing. Like really make myself start. A story doesn't have to start at the beginning either.

What are you passionate about? Weed. Write the ultimate stoner story.

Go to tvtropes.org (or something like that) and browse common plot devices.

Like 'the journey', 'the coming of age story', 'the account', 'the contest/goal-oriented story' etc.

It's your story. It's your plot.

Even if it sounds shit to you it's better than asking other people to give it to you.

Throw what you have in your head out there and work with it. It might be a whole lot better than you think. When it comes to writing, don't dismiss anything immediately.

Also, if you read alot of books you';ll be familiar with common themes and devices authors use. Get reading- get inspired.

Good luck.

Inbox me with your draft so I can Beta it for you.

EDIT: DUH... One last tip: this might help :leaf:

Akira was young but the future of the Oni gang, the most powerful yakuza crime syndicate known to creation rests on her shoulders. Having lost her father, "the great shisui of the body flicker", at the hands of 'el pollo loco' and his fearsome Vasto Lordes, revenge was the only thing on her mind.

A thousand generations of kdoo had forfeited a normal life, the right to mate as they chose, for this one moment. Kendet was the Pinnacle, the target of twenty thousand winters of planning, breeding, for redemption ... and revenge. She felt her skin split and began the exhausting dance to be rid of it. Soon the world would know if her final-molt form was all that her kind had hoped for ...

I agree. Nobody can "help" you be creative. Do you know what kind of story you want to write? Mystery? Romance? I'm writing an erotica for my creative writing course and it's...not going well lol. But at least it's my story. And Kuroi is dead on...I write most efficiently after i've smoked. A lot. It does wonders.

--these are a couple of good short story kick-starts that are pretty fun. . .start each sentence with letters of the Alphabet in order for example --Anus had a hard time explaining his name to people. Bob, Tom, Rick, why couldn't his mother have named him something normal like that? Carrying around a name like Anus was an unfair burden and because of this, Anus became very fond of explosives as a way to release his frustrations. . .etc or another good one is pick a fairy tale and write it in a different style-- one of my fav's is tabloid journalism ie "Pigs found slaughtered. Wolf prime suspect!" Investigators were called to the scene of a grisly crime scene today. Ham-hocks and bloody pigs feet littered among piles of hay in what appears to be a demolished house. . . and oh, yes, being thunderously stoned whilst writing is very helpful :)

No one can prove I did it...

Rainbow, your stoned ramblings and misreadings have produced some of the most endearing and memorable moments in the history of this forum.. I'd very much like to read some of your fictional prose if you swing that way.
