Doooooode, that record brings back memories. The bit on Australian wine... LMAO.
We're probably close to the same age. I freaked my family out because I liked watching Two Ronnies, Benny Hill, MPFC, and later, Fawlty Towers. I was a weird kid.
Yeah I'd guess we are, I'm 52 next year :(
That Aus wine sketch is quality....the whole record is brilliant, my kinda humour. Those comedy shows were all great...I could name a few more too...Billy Connolly was brilliant!

Right, on to my veg cab which is taking longer than I planned, but that's life.....the frame is now built. Next stage is to add the fans then fix the strips to the ali frame and fit and wire them up. Once that is done I'll add the mylar and the covering which is a cream coloured blackout material. The underside is white so should help with reflecting the light.

The idea is that rectangular trays will fit between the screws on the base. Those screws will be used to tie down the branches of the plants.
I'm hoping to get this finished by the end of the weekend at latest and move the plants in :). Then I can finish decorating the room and put carpet down!

That's about it for now. Thanks for checking in. :peace: (:

awwwwwwyyeeaaahhhhhh!! so close man!

lookin sweet
Thanks man...it's looking better than I thought it would. Next is the bit I'm dreading, the electrics! The wire for the strips is bloody thin and I don't have wire strippers so it'll be a bit tricky but I'll manage... :I think I know how to wire the strips in parallel but I'll check before I power them up. Don't wanna blow 'em up before I've used 'em!

@Moflow a question for you about the wiring of the strips in parallel if I may please mate. Do I connect each + and - of the strips to the + and - of the driver? I don't connect the strips together, that's series wiring? Is that correct?

Im all series.
Yes my friend, all the positives + on the strips to positive + on driver.
All Negitives - on strips to Negitive - on driver.
You only got a couple of strips haven't you?
By the time you get this you'll probably be lit up!

Flattering as it is to ask my advice on wiring I'll summon up @Randomblame
I'm not an "expert"

Yeah 2 strips....but it won't get done just yet, waking up after a night watching the Ashes :)
Anyone who has a pile of dead fans has to be an expert in wiring lol ;)
Thanks anyway for the info, I'm sure it is correct.

Excellent! I should just about manage then :D
It's as I thought but good to have confirmation so I'm confident I won't damage the strips. Thanks dude, appreciate the input. (:
Measure twice, cut once.
Lots of help on here and it's always good to confirm.
Can' wait to see it switched on!
Good luck mate

are you going to attach the strips to a heatsink or straight to the wood? what ma are you driving each diode?
I have some ali angle I'll use as heatsink. I haven't worked out the mA/diode as of yet. I won't be driving them too hard though. If needs be I'll add a 3rd strip and run them a bit softer.
