Stone_Free's Samsung Strip Build & Grow

A multimeter is always useful.
But you could take an extension cable for case fans, they have the same molex connector but only 2 wires. So you can find out which wire you do not need with these fans. Pins are always connected in the same way to make sure they work in pc's, but colors can be different.

Strips and drivers arrived today (:
Waiting for a few bits from eBay but they should be here by Monday. Things are going a bit slow, depression has been kicking my ass for the past couple of days but hopefully that'll pass. Also not having done this kind of build before I wasn't sure of all the things I need....still it's all a learning experience!

I'll hopefully get the veg cab frame built tomorrow and start to fit everything into it as and when stuff arrives. Annoyingly the aluminium channel I ordered isn't going to arrive. The company emailed me to say it is a 10 day wait before shipping as they are so busy. I cancelled the order and have re-ordered from eBay.
Things are moving forward even if it is slow but at least I'm heading in the right direction..... :)

how are the plants man? didnt you have some lil ones
Yes mate, got 3 Killer Kush in suspended animation lol....6 weeks in veg and they're still lil. I kinda wanted it that way though, wanted to keep them small until my veg cab was ready for them and then give them a kick start with the new lights, bigger pots, Mammoth P and poss some Triacontanol.
I *think* it doesn't matter how long they stay small, it just matters that they get bigger before the flip, whether that takes a few weeks or 3 months! I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong (:
A couple of yellow leaves on them despite the fact that I've been feeding them BioBizz Grow and a bit of Formulex. Stems seem to be thickening up nicely though, had a fan blowing gently on them to help with that. Overall they look good though, despite their current lack of height!
Oh and I topped them...the day before I had a discussion with @Randomblame about topping/FIM'ing. Gonna try to do without a net and use some ties to hold the branches horizontal when they start to get a bit bigger. The veg cab will have slats that the pots sit on which I will use to secure some ties to. Also the base will have a space between it and the slats which I'll use to slide in an electric blanket if I need to increase temps if we have a cold snap. I don't want to have the rads on all day to keep the whole room heated, even if I'm not home!
Hopefully there is some logic to my plans that'll work out (:

I've not had any weed for a couple of months. Totally pissed off with dealers etc plus I felt like having a while without weed or alcohol. Obvs with dealers you have to take what they have but I'd rather grow what suits me and my depression etc. That is something I'm still exploring. A strong Haze strain doesn't necessarily help me if I'm feeling down and that is the kind of thing many dealers have.
Something more Indica, less THC and a bit of CBD might be better for me, and of course a decent flavour. In the end I hope to have 3-4 different strains that suit my particular needs on any given day. After all, I'm growing for me and my mental health so it's important to try different strains until I find what suits.

Cheers to all for stopping by. As always feel free to make comments/suggestions. :peace: :leaf: (:

Funny you should say that man, I was thinking just this morning, killing with kindness is still killing....I do need to let them grow without too much unnecessary intervention.
Plenty of cal in my tap water, I don't filter it as I think you do but then you're growing in coco so it's different I know.....what about Epsom salts, is that any good for your style of grow?

Yeah, good advice. Not always good to choose seeds by the amount of THC as I used to...I want flavour and a mellow feeling with just a bit of lift.....

@Randomblame Yo Rb....my Multimeter arrived....haven't used one for 20 years, so here's what I did. I set the resistance to 200k ohms and attached the probes to the pot...left and centre and turned the knob all the way to the right and got a reading of 1075. Turned the knob slowly to the left and the 1075 decreased all the way to 0. Tried it with centre and right on the pot and got the same value but in the other direction and it decreased to 0 when I turned the knob slowly to the right. So I know the pot is working but I'm not sure of the value 1075...does that effectively mean dimming is from 0 to 107.5%?

That value tell you the resistance of your pot, not the percent dimming. What is the value stamped on the pot?
