Cool...it will be interesting to see how the ferted bagseed compares to the others....nothing like trying something out for yourself. Maybe it works for your grow, maybe not...but I feel positively about it

Right, thats why I want to do it to the 2nd seed, see the differences over the first plant that wont be receiving any nutes. Would you use the grow big, tiger bloom or big bloom?

Fair warning : I used 1/4 strength nutes on my seedlings and it caused a nute lockout.

Yeah im gonna go very light. Im thinking ill be using the Big Bloom for the one sproutling. My first sproutling im not using any nutes, i want to see the difference it actually makes.

And once you cause any type of lockout or burning, it takes a week or so to stop affecting your plant. sooooo.... unless you will be using urine like Lady J, I think the risks out weigh the benifits.

Big bloom to start....it is low nutes anyway. When the seedling is working on it's 3rd set, switch to grow big. By the way, keep in mind for later that a little big bloom should be used with grow big for regular ferting. Read this on RIU and was told by the owner of the hydro store by my place.

Flaming, I don't know what nutes you tried to give to your seedlings, but I have successfully ferted 14 plants now from seedling stage and have not seen nute burn once. You can look through my different grows if you feel like, never had one plant respond negatively to being ferted from seed. Also, I do not know what kind of soil you were using! All I can say is it works for me.

Not all of my plants were / are ferted with urine. I also have the fox farm line up, bone and blood meal, and happy frog ferts.

There were alot of variables in your second grow tho. Bigger lights, different soil, and urine is highly variable.. Not trying to diss, jus saying that I wish I hadn't used ferts. It took away alot of green areas that could of been gathering light for root growth.

He has had such a rough start for his first seedling, it wouldn't be a fair comparison run.

Ok so i want to make sure im reading this right. It shows for seedlings o nbig bloom the number 6. Is this 6 teaspoons per gallon of water? Or is it not represented in teaspoons. Obv im not going to use full strength, but im trying to figure out what the little numbers are representing, unit wise, so I know how to mix this shit up. The schedule doesnt say what the numbers represent, so atm 6 could mean 6 tablespoons per gallon of water to me atm. Any help Lady J?

if in doubt use teaspoons lol. quarter dose would be 1 1/2 teaspoon per gallon?

Like I said Pie, even in my second grow, not all of my plants were ferted with urine...I still use grow big and happy frog on some plants. My most recent seedling plants were ferted with the same exact nutes he has. Bigger lights isn't going to prevent or add to nute burn from ferting, and if your soil is lacking nutes, it really doesn't matter what type of medium it is...the plant will starve.

In my first grow, I used urine on the bagseed seedling and big bloom / grow big on the kush and skunk seedling...I was using CFLs and soil without any nutes in it. That's not much different from what he's doing right now...jiffy pellets are without nutes.

Again, he is using bagseed and this is a practice run before he uses good genetics....if it fails, it's not a big deal. If it is successful, then he learned something incredibly valuable. He wants to try, so let him try

I'm not sure...I didn't follow the chart, just played the guessing game! But I would like to point out that the fact that FF has seedlings on the chart shows that even they think seedlings can be ferted

My second seed has sprouted but hasnt bucked the seed off yet, so i cut the rooter in half on one side and placed the tap root snug inside of the rooter ( it was growing so long it almost pushed itself out ), watered it and left it in the rooter inside of the humidity dome, this one is going to be nuted. Pics tomorrow with my updates!

Big update for today, lots of growth over night!

First off, my first girl, her first set of leaves are growing big time now that shes switched to 18/6, her leaves have more then doubled in size over 2 days and Im pretty sure i can barely see the second set starting to grow out of the center.

Second girl, she was cracked in under 24 hours, planted in to a rooter and has had HUGE growth over 24 hours, as you can see her taproot shot straight down out of the rooter and shes already taller then my first plant. She bucked her seed on her own this morning which is why shes not green yet, she needs light.

SO! Im transplanting her in to a red solo cup that i added lots of holes to for drainage as you can see. Its going to be a mix of FFoF and Perilite about 2/3rd ffof and 1/3rd perilite. Heres some pictures!

Question - will these holes be good enough on my solo cup?

If you're going to use fox farm ocean forest...don't nute. Only nute seedlings when the soil is lacking nutrients! FFoF has a lot of nutes...sometimes too much for some strains.

And those holes might actually be too big...looks like soil and perlite will easily fall through.

Some more pics, got my second girl transplanted. Only difference in it is i added a small bit of lime to the soil to buffer the ph of the soil in the long run.

I must say, im thoroughly happy with the aeration the fox farm ocean forest gives, it drains beautifully with some added perilite. WAYYYY different composition to it over that junk top soil I had. Planted the stem deep, probably 3/4ths of it is in the soil. When I opened up the rapid rooter, I could already see the ever so tiny hairs coming off of the stem holding on to the rooter. I would have left it in longer to get great roots going but since she poked out of the bottom I figured i would need to transplant her in to something bigger so the roots can grow out. I may even need to redo her yet, I realized I may have put her to far down to the bottom of the cup. Might need to use a bit more soil next time so I get more depth. Heres some pics.

*Cant wait to see how she does in the ffof since it has some nutes already in it. I pray she doesnt burn but wondering what the difference will be between her and the first girl I have planted in a rooter.

Edit - as shown in the pics I had a second cup under the first collecting water since my floor is carpet in my upstairs, its been removed going in to the box. I also took out the 2700k 23w I had in there for some different spectrum lighting and added a 2nd 6500k.

I also added about .5 mls of Fox Farm Grow Big into about 500 mls of distilled water, not a lot. Mixed it up and pulled about 3 mls of the nuted water and put that on my girl that still in the rapid rooter, 3 mls isnt a lot, so I then watered her down for her daily watering with just plain distilled water. I get distilled water from where I work so Ive been using that over tap water thats been set out for days to dechlorinate. So she didnt get a lot of nutes, if anything just a small minuscule amount at most, might perk her up to grow a bit faster, once she gets her second set of leaves or if i see roots from the bottom or side of the rooter Ill transplant her in to a solo cup as well.
