dude i didnt know shit about indoors until i bought the aerogarden, then i ended up finding this site and knew i could of saved money making my own but whatcha gonna do. and there cool to grow with, growins sick now matter what way you grow man, this aint a thread for your opinion on the aerogarden its a grow journal.
Funny, it states the title of the posting as "Starting with Aerogarden (my first grow, advice appreciated)".

Doesn't say anything about it being a grow journal. It asks for advice, which I gave. If you guys (or gals) fear the flooding of your grow room, place an additional basin beneath your reservoir. :peace:

Hehe, thx for backing us up dave. I actually posted this in the hydro/aero section instead of doing a formal journal, and in my first post I asked for everyone's comments and opinions... so it's all good. I knew those kinds of comments would be coming, and I like objectivity. Even if this is a cheap piece of crap, I like to hear why...it's all part of the learning process.

Hey man, you're doing one hell of a job. Don't take what I typed the wrong way. That's the problem with a bbs. People can't interpret your particular tone. I just want you peeps to do well and not waste money in the process. It does look like a great system for someone who just hits the hydro/aero market. Don't get me wrong, but after some experience you realize it's a waste of money. Don't read to deeply into the syntax of others, peeps! Weedcraft, keep up the great work. If you can afford the space I can recommend some better systems, for half the price. Take care, and grow well. :blsmoke:

Thx again alex. Space was kind of an issue this time, and I had a friend who flooded his basement with a DWC. Like I said, AG was just a quick solution. I know what you mean though, I'm not taking your advice the wrong way. Next time I will for sure try something else.

I have two AG deluxe's. I am using one to start seedlings and and veg clones. I am using the other one to veg a few mother plants. I have a ebb and flow tray under a 400HPS for flowering. Using this method is the only way i could see to get a size-able harvest using the AG'S.

Ive decided its finally time to become self sufficient. I dont want to sell, only to not spend ass loads of cash on good weed every month. So I just bought a deluxe AG for myself :) Ive been reading all the posts here, and it seems perfect for the casual smoker/project enthusiast. The biggest complaint people seem to have is that the lighting on the original is not strong enough. In addition to the longer neck and a few control changes, the deluxe model also seems to have more lighting than the original (3 bulbs instead of 2) Will this extra bulb get me at least close to what i need to do 2 or 3 plants ? I will be starting from some mid grade commercial seeds from a friend. From what i have been reading, i think im going to germinate in a paper towel for a day or two and then transplant them over to the sponge. The root enzymes seem to have a general thumbs up around here, so ill probably grab some from home depot and throw a bit in the water supply. I have also seen lots of back and forth on the AG nutrient tablets vs fox's. Im thinking Fox's are the way to go? Anyway, enough stoned ranting. This should be a fun project. All the pics here look awesome, i cant wait to jump in myself (the deluxe model is currently on backorder though :( gotta wait till next week for it to ship)

You'll probably still need more lighting, but I dunno you may be able to pull it off if you flower early. I would recommend using supplemental lighting like the one me and dave have (or something better). Or you could just try your stock lighting and when they start to get too tall, make a run to home depot. The light fixture i made was cheap, and it works great. As far as nutes go, you should start your seedlings with NO NUTES, just the water is enough and you'll get nute burn if you start nutes right off the bat. Then after 1-2 weeks, start to add your tablets or your fox farm GRADUALLY. I've been using the AG tablets for now; I have some FF stashed away though. The good thing about the AG tablets is that they will adjust the pH for you, and if you have the herb kit, you're good to go. But with FF, you'll want to keep a close eye on your pH and you'll want to buy an EC meter. Good luck with it man, I'm sure no matter what you do you'll be fine.

Here Chip Chip... Wheres my chippy now. Chip Chip.... Theres my Chippy.

The original chippy image was made for one of the last episodes of Tom Goes to the Mayor. It was called "Friendship Alliance" and chippy played la wolfbaby who was Tom's neice :) The guy who plays Steve Brule guest starred. He shot Gibbons who was riding on a deer in an abandoned lot. Everyone from Tim and Eric's Awesome Show Great Job! was once on their original show.

Anyway.... I dont think my aerogarden is shiping till the 7th. They are all on back order. Ill post pics once i get it. I just got some decent commercial seeds from a friend. Theres a few tiger seeds in there. Should be good :)

At day 14 i finally got a timer and figure 8 cord from radio shack and put my babies on 24hrs of pure sunshine. They were on 18/6, 5 pods growing and started 2 new seedlings in other 2 pods. Looking great so far only one plant has a little yellow on leaves. All others bright green. I am growing from third generation seeds. I would say wish me luck but i dont think i will need it.

Alright guys, for those of you following this grow, today I've started to notice these ball-like structures in my biggest girl. I'm not sure if they really are balls or just new sets of leaves about to split, but this is making me worry. I went ahead and started a new thread about this problem, Are these Hermie Balls or New Sets of Leaves?!?!. Check it out and give me some advice. I'm gonna be pissed if this is a fucking hermie!
