I'm using the AG nutes at the moment, but i'll probably end up buying some real hydro nutes later. Thing about the AG nutes is... each pack is specifically designed for each seed kit...so i'd probably go with the herbs kit (as opposed to salad greens, strawberries, etc) just b/c they are in the same family of plants. The AG nutes also auto adjust your pH for you which is a good thing. If you get hydro nutes, expect to buy a pH meter or an EC meter if you can afford it, because you will have to pH the solution after you mix it.

yea ive used the ag nutes the whole way through, dont use any nutes until you have a few sets of nodes.

Do you use the new deluxe aerogarden with the longer neck that lets you raise the lights like another two feet?

I think next time i'll build my own hydro system, but the AG is fun to start with. Still pissed about those males. :wall: Gonna chop them down tomorrow i guess, cuz they're asleep now. I better get a damn female out of the 2-3 unkowns

oh well, hopefully the roots have it clogged up and it will pump again when im done this grow. good luck with the females, hope you get a couple.

Yea if you bought the old AG, your pump is probably defective. Call or email AG and they wiill replace it for free and send you a new seed kit.

You need a figure 8 cord to set it on a timer. You can read up on the AG light cycles on their website, but i don't go with that...i have my own timer that goes by what time of day it is. The new deluxe ones have a 24/7 option, but mine didn't so i used the figure 8 cord. You can buy it at radioshack, but i happened to have one laying around from an old lap top charger.

I would go by # of nodes before you flower. I think 5-6 sets of nodes is a good time, but depending on how much light you have and how big the roots are, you may be able to wait longer. Flowering at 2 weeks would probably yield about 5 grams...but yield is really dependant on a lot of things. My advice would be to make a journal, post pics and get opinions. B/c everyone has their own methods. Also read up on it, all this stuff has been talked about over and over.

interesting... well it may work, just give it time. I know that you're gonna want to go easy on nutrients for the first two weeks. That's why i said no nutes, b/c if you have nutes in your resevoir now you're gonna get nute burn most likely. Really depends on your plants though and their genetics as to how much they can take. I know i had a few that got burnt at the start and it stunted their growth.
Yea, I have been studying all of the Aergarden posts on this site since October. I was aware of the nutes. I will be using the full line of Foxfarm nutes. I am using just the ph adjusted water to 5.8 with a small amount of SUPERthrive and Sub Culture for the first few weeks. Then i plan to start out with a 1/4 strength the first week and then build up to full strength. The SUPERthrive and SubCulture are not nutes. SUPERthrive has hormones and vitamins. It has 50 instant biousables normal pure complexes from carbon-hydrogen-oxygen natural organic crystals. It saves plants from waiting while trying to make them. It is suppose to promote healthier, faster plants and crop yields and germination rate. Sub Culture is a root inoculant that contains a wide diversity of rhizosphere microorganisms that colonize plant roots. It brings live microorganisms to plant roots. You can use it throughout the life of the plants from seed germination or cutting propagation through harvest.
