im thinking of starting to grow, i have my own house and privacy so what im really deciding is wether to go hydro or soil, also what type of lights (florescent or otherwise) i should be looking to, also where is a good online site to buy this type of stuff discretely?
thanks
well i think you should grow. if you have your own house and privicy then hell yeah go for it. but it all comes down to money when your talking about hydro and soil. but as far as light go, i would say that you should seal up a room and make sure no light can be seen from the outside of the house and i would tell you to go with a 1000 watt MH lighting system and you can do a stadium grow. ie, suspend your light in the middle of the room and set your plant up around the light just like stadium bleachers. then all you need to do is rig up a exaust fan that will pull your hot air out of the room and have it blow the hot air into your attic. that way the heated air can slowly be let out and you dont have a hot air vent blowing super heated air right out into the open.
but thats just my input, keep us posted on what you decide mate. best of luck
much depends on how big you want to start, if you want to start small, say 1-2 plants, cfl's are good for an easy, inexpensive way to start
if you want the big moma's' HPS is most economical way, with a few cfl's thrown in for the blue colors
You will make changes over and over as you get into it. You are picking a starting method not an ending method. Go simple, don't invest much, set your goal to learn as much as you can. I vote for simple dwc bubble bucket powered by airstones only. I know it's tempting to go buy now, but read and study, then read and study some more.
thanks for the info, i think the bubble bucket is what im going to try, probably start with 3, another question, can i go from seedlings into clay stones or do i need to get roots going first?
