Starting up- Seeds or clones?

Still clear but building trichs. My temps are about 81 F. IS that enough to stimulate ripening?

Well it's been a few days since I updated. The Tangerine Dream is yellowing fast and I fear I'm fucked! Her roots are fine, and she's getting enough water. I boosted her Bloom and Micro nutes but kept the N lower to see if that might help her hold on until she gets milky at least.
(DSCN2710.JPG DSCN2728.JPG Pix of her bud development)

But, the good news!
Miss Lemon Tree is pretty good stuff. :bigjoint: I jarred her ( ~1/3 jar de-twigged) and and had her setting cool and dark for a few days, burping when necessary. Not a good cure due to her condition , but I snagged a nickel size nug last night and smoked about a third in my micro bong. Two minutes later I realized I was stoned! Not hammered, but smiling! I had been thinking about just making butter from this and some peanut butter cookies, so my wife can try this. However considering the strength of this I had better sample it a few more times, bongsmilie just for safety's sake. Right?

Hey Goat Soup,
Don't recall how much time you have left on the Tangerine...but she's not looking that bad. I say throw some epsom salts in there...some interveinal fading and since many flush products add in ES...little risk of affecting flavor at this point.

From a totally professional point of view...I agree that a few more tests are in order.
Cheers,
JD

She's starting week 12 from seed today. I don't have a today pix (above pix are ~2 weeks ago?) but all her fan leaves have yellowed but her buds are still green and filling out. I hope I can keep her alive for another week. If her sugar leaves start to fade I'll chop her while the buds still green.

I may have some Hydo plague? I figure on a long delay for heat reasons before my next grow. I'll wash everything in bleach water, tubs, walls, manifolds and pumps before the next cycle. I'm going to change my pumps and rez arrangement and get more control of my water & nutes, reduce the volume of my root chambers and lots of small upgrades to the grow space.

GS,
Look at post 362 the top two pictures. Open the one on the left and on that shot you can clearly see interveinal chlorosis toward the left and even on leaves lower down. That plant needs mg.

I put in about 2 teaspoons of ES in a gal of water and added that to my ~10 gal rez, which pushed ppms up from 700 to~1300. It may have helped as TD isn't fading as bad as she was. Trich's are starting to get cloudy (?), but still clearish. Even with a 30X loup it's hard to tell. Almost all the fan leaves have faded and are falling off. I did see a few amber ones, but that may be anxious me.
Maybe Sunday I'll start trimming?

This is really trying my patience!

GS: I didn't realize you were so close to harvest. Maybe just water to the end?
It's in hydro so I'd be leery of 'just water' even though my tap water is about 200 ppm 7.2 PH.

I'm about 4 weeks overdue! This TD was suppose to be 7-8 weeks from seed to harvest but it's dragging out. It's an Auto I thought it would be faster, is why I chose it. It was doing beautifully but then.,..
Still it does have about 20 buds 3-5 inches long and frosty, I just wish they'd ripen soon.

I've been slowly collecting the stuff for an Aero grow in my bathtub for the last two months. I'll be using the bathtub as my ultimate leak/spill protection. I have a very limited budget every month. Next week I'll be buying my fans and filters and thought I'd better be ready to plant once the room is equipped.

I've been searching for seeds to start but, while Goggling for clones in Sacto, I found I can buy clones in various sizes for not much more than seed from the seed banks. A couple of places have 4-6" clones ($12) or 12-16" Teens ($18), or 16-24" Ready for flower ($24). The RFF's are in 1 gal soil so probably not for my Aero system. The Strains available are pretty varied and some good stuff. I was thinking some Tangi would be good.

I had been thinking about running some Autos to get some fast bud and found a local seed bank with some good strains but, does it make sense spend $29 for 3 seeds (8 week autos) or $54 for three (8-9 week photos) teens and just put the teens into flower? I'll be using a ~24"x30"x70" space so size is an issue that could be addressed by early flowering? I'll use the other half of the tub for my cloning setup so running photos will give me cloning cuttings.

The really cool thing is, as long as I just run 6 plants I'll be legal! Thank you Prop 64!
If starting from clone u have a big chance of starting off with a bug infection...

Well after almost reaching the 16th week, my Tangerine Dream is starting to amber up. I cut a 5-6 buds in the least lighted side of the plant that were showing few amber thich's. Trying to cure them rather than just drying them. I did taste a bit of it and it is pretty potent. I'm hoping it gets better with a good cure.
I'm leaving the top buds to amber more in the next few days.
I think that the lack of light was the reason. My little LED's can only get 500 umols at 8" so it was a little light on illumination.
Next time I'll run them 18/6 for the autos.

Well today i cut the last buds off. Here is the aftermath. She's got massive roots. I was using Flora Micro so that is why they are stained. the Last pix is her mid-July.
I got five or six quart jars off the one plant. Now the cureing starts to bring out the flavors. So far it's smooth and half a joint for smiles an giggles.
Not sure that I proved Auto's are fast though, as it took 19+ weeks to finish from germination. Although the way she faded out meant they was not much trimming needed, besides plucking off the dead leaves.
With all the troubles and my disasters, This Tangerine Dream Auto from Growers Choice is a good deal.
I'll do this again

Hi GS,
I've heard that autos aren't that easy...and looks like you confirmed that. I've never grown one myself. But you have buds filling the jars and that/s what it's about...

I've got seeds for about five more cycles all autos. Hopefully I can learn to max out my modest Grow space. I had a few problems caused by my abilities, but for my first grow in 10 years, not too bad.

I'm going to run Tangerine Dream and Northern lights next. Nice low stinkers which is my main concern, and good THC %'s.

I've got White Widow to follow. I may order some C99's though, as it appears to be a winner and more yeild.

GS,
Not sure why you're growing autos but a fast finishing regular C99 would probably finish sooner then your last auto (and likely more potent).

I started with Autos for their "7-9" week finish. However I think they need at least four weeks to get started and 7-9 weeks to flower, so they are probably as slow as photos, but they tolerate light leaks and 18/6.
Before the next grow cycle I'll have to do some mods to seal my grow space.

I'm hoping that the next cycle will be faster 18/6 all the way thru, with few Nute screwups.
