I just toss my beans in a bear cup, fill with tap water.Pull them out with a tweezer, when I see a white root popped out.I then put then in a seed flat,on top of a seedling mat, under some fluoros.

Are you growing with soil.if so just put tat bean a 1/4 inch down in some soil just like mother nature intended. What type of lights?temps below 80f,easy to do with cfls.Humidity isnt as important with seeds as they are with clones. 40% to 60% humidity during veg is a safe range.I'm no vet,nor do you need to be to grow beautiful plants. Just keep it simple and ask more ?'s

One good place to start is knowing what you did wrong last time.

i use these jiffy pellets and the cheap little greenhouse thing ,they come together from the garden center, by the instructions on the package then place them on my sat box that keeps them right at 80 degrees, no soaking the seeds for me , keep an eye on the temp and get them under your lights as soon as they break through ,one seed per pellet...rob:leaf:

There are various methods, the following have worked really, really well for me...

The paper towel method

Items Needed:

  • Kitchen Roll
  • Air Tight Container
  • Luke Warm Water
Get 6 Pieces of kitchen towel, split in half so 3 rolls are joined together.

Boil Your Kettle, pour boiling water in a cup of some sort, leave on a window sill till luke warm (Just test with your finger)

Then once the cup of water is luke warm, dip in 1 of the 3 joined kitch roll sheets and then squeeze gently, so it's moist not soaken & then do the same with the other 3 kitchen roll sheets.

Place 1 of the kitchen sheets witch you pre-soaked previously into the bottom of an air tight container, place seeds into the towel & then put the other kitchen towel on top of seeds.

Then close container & place on a warm radiator..

I usually get the air tight container and wrap it in a tea towel, then place on a hot radiator.

Other method

Pre-Soak soil, get a pencil measure of 1/4 inch and mark with a knife.

Then put pencil in the pre-soaked soil, drop seed in, dust soil over top, give a final mist.. leave it somewhere warm or at least room temp.

I usually see the seeds up within 24-72 hours some times lil more but most of time within hours stated, as it's not uncommon for seeds to take a tad longer.

Best of luck..

most seedlings die from over watering.

then heat.

then fert.

then ph.

pot doesnt live in a swamp.

and before you order another couple $$$ worth of seeds.

just try regular bagseed, any old shitty seed.

would you learn to drive in a formula 1 racer
learn to fly in the space shuttle
learn how to juggle with 1 baby 1 chainsaw and 1 chicken egg full of HCL acid

I've just started my new year grow with seeds (had to bud mom out befor the holidays)
I put 5 seeds in 5.8 ph (Not sure if that is really important) water, for 18-24 hours, then between paper towels and small plates, keep em really moist but not soaking in water. Within 24 hours all had pooped out their tails. Carefully planted in rockwool and 2 in peat pellets. It's been 36ish hours and all 5 have broke the surface and looking good. Oh yeah they are all sitting in a humid dome under a couple of cfl's right now till they are big enough for "the other room"
This has been working for me. Good luck man.
