Starting my first grow, Would love advice and tips

Oh well I didn't know it was 400w haha. Just do a hand test, put your hand underneath the florescent at different heights and if its not too warm on ur hand, then the plants will be fine.

Nice what strain is it? or is it just a mutant? (forgot sorry read ur journal last night). There seems to be a lot of people getting triploids lately, which is sweet! (wish id get one)

Yea its a 400w mh. HID lighting the only way to go.... But yea my mutant was out of a strain of banana, it was from a local grower who either made a mistake or pollinated the plant for seeds (pretty sure the second). But the bag it came from was delicious, just was seedie, so figured this stuff will be even better since it wont be gettin pollinated

Oh my bad I thought it was a fluorescent, nvm what ever you do dont lower the lights to 2 inches! haha. Nice, thats really lucky. Hopefully the mom wasn't a hermie tho.
My plants were out of some dank bud too that was completely full of seeds tho, so I bet it just got pollinated. I never find any seeds in the bud I buy so Im stuck ordering seeds the next time I wanna grow.

yea there might be a good chance they were from a hermi, but inside intelligence says other wise, said that he was seeding do to having to move his operation, so he pollinated his mothers. But that's just hearsay, so i have no clue really. But i can hope like a mofo. lol.( it could also be a new strain he was makeing donno) And yea that was a one time deal, so normally there no seeds at all. But im hopeing one of the 3 will make a decent mother.

Also i wish i would have bought seeds, seeing the results that people have with the fem seeds. would be nice to know right from the bat that my plant was most likely a girl, Also to know the exact stain. So sometime during this grow i will be ordering new seeds that are known strains, and best suited for my grow room setup. But figured why not learn with some beginers, before i spend money on big boy stuff ( the lights i have i was just lucky, got all 4 my 400w mh for free, lol found them on top of polls, rofl)

Man woke up today and had a big bummer as the leavs on my bannas started to do something wierd the tips like dried out, i assume its nuet burn (donno how waterd them at like 1/20 strength) but ima get pics up soon so u guys can take a look, cus it looks like it has nitrogen diff, but at the same time im not sure if thats nuet burn now. But ill post pics soon, so u guys can help

Well at least you have some info, haha I have absolutely no idea where the seeds were from, what strain they are or why the bag was seeded

hears the pics, the first 4 all are the bannas, donno if ther nuet burn or nitro diff, U can see how on the metant the leavs died kinda, the others are just pics of other bag seeds that are growing good, in that crappy soil

Please help tho, i need to know if these babys are dieng, or just went thur a ruff period, i mean new growth looks good, but is it dieng slowly? or did i burn them like i suspect, just cus i havnt read anything about nitrogen diff makeing the leavs curl up and died half way

Wow dude, such a small plant definitely shouldn't look like that or have a deficiency. How far away are you keeping ur lights? What lights u got? whats the temp by ur plants?

temps in the room are a constant 78-80, donno humitity, ph of my water is 6.8 and yea i donno whats going on, i think mabey i stunted them more than i thought when i transplanted them to the big buckets , as there growing better and better each day, but thos 3 are scarrying me, i donno whats going on, and its under a 400wmh, wonder if it time to change bulbs, i mean i know i need to soon, but dint think it would effect it that much Gonna try and let them dry out and gonna flush next time with nothinhg but water and see how that works, also gonna try and get a soil meter so i can test the soil ph

well seems theres starting to actually grow, seen more growth in the last two nights than iv seen in weeks, still lettem dry out even more since they woulda normally been watered today. Soil still feels danmp so gonna wait till tom, till i flush with water

Also started 5 more from some diff seeds that i recieved from some bag, was really good and was seemed to be from outdoor so im guessing it was a good crop that got pollinated. But im hopeing the growth on these ones will be faster than the others

Also am now starting to buil me an ebb flow system, dont think ima even flower very many of the ones growing just goin to use them for mothers. Since most will probly be male and then the ones that are females i will take the ones that have to best traits to use as mothers. also figured the space im useing now isnt going to give me the potential yeild i want, so gonna use it as the veg room, and set up a new flower room with dual 400 watters, and think ima be useing the sog or method, or something along those lines, cus i would like something that can coutinuasly feed my habit, so will have plants in all diff stages

But pics to come soon, and hopefully a writeup on the new flower room

Snapped some more pics today, was from my phone so there not the best, but u can see that there starting to grow now, and seem to be healthy now

Any advice? Thinking about starting them out with some molasses, is this a good idea?

Anyone have any ideas why there growing so slow? i know i over water to begin with, and the soil isnt to great in the smaller pots, but still there about a month old and there harldy 4 inchs tall if that. i also think i have a problem in the bigger buckets as the soil seems real cold when i touch it, guessing its from the evaperation, but is this hurting my plants, an how do i fix it if so. Temps stay around 80 and humidity stays around 60

Wow dude those are a month old?!? theyre really small dude.
I dont think the temps are are a problem really, but u should stop over watering if u know ur doing it (might cause a bit of slowing).
What are ur pH levels?
U give em nutes yet?
Ps: sorry can't really think of why they are growing slowly with out more info.

yea i deff stopped overwatering them, as there actually growing now, but i really think i might have butched the roots bad when i transplanted them, and thats what caused there slow growth. But anyhow there off to the races now, looks like next week they should be twice that size if not more. And na havnt started the nuets yet, since im pretty sure iv burned these babys too, so right now im still flushing, as for the ones in the small containers there getting 1/4 strenght and i have no idea why there not growing faster, guess its crappy soil, also starting to think my light is just really bad, gonna grab a new one tommarow, along with a soil/ moister meiter to help me out.

Also hopeing to order some seeds sometime in the next week or so, think ima go with attitude seeds, or nirvania, been doing alot of reading on them both, but anyone have a prefrence on wich one i should use? i live in the us, so they have to be shipped hear, alos not sure what stains to get, might get the variety pack so i have diff kinds

Nice sounds real good. My plants just had some pH problems and its slowing growth but im hoping to get some proper pH up (Natural spa pH up and baking soda didn't work haha) so Im really looking forward to that boom afterwards. I also just FIMmed so a bunch of new stems and leafs are sprouting out everywhere underneath if you have some time, you should check out my grow man.

Nice, I really like the sound of jock horrors high from nirvana and was thinking of ordering from them (heard a lot of good things, all the bad shit about nirvana happened a few years ago now their fine) but I decided to go with attitude instead, got blue widow, super lemon haze and moby dick and got seeds in 8 days since order (because of the weekend). Simple stealth in a dvd but I guess it worked since the us has sooo fucking much mail. got all seeds labeled and 2 were in dinafem breeders pack. They have this cool pick n' mix thing where you can buy single feminized seeds for like 15 bucks a piece. you can get some really expensive strains for 15-23 per bean which is nice (super lemon haze is a really famous and its like 100 bucks per 5 seeds). Plus with every order you get free seeds.

Haven't germed my seeds yet but I haven't heard of any bad germ rates

yea i cant wait to get some seeds that i know what they are, that way i know what the end product will be. Also i do think ima do the pix in mix, since i do plan on creating a much larger scale grow soon, just starting to set up things, and need mothers, but yea the idea of haveing a few diff strains sounds real nice, and they all look so tasty. But at the moment im on a low budget, so it all depends on my money situation, so hopefully these ladies grow up quick and show sex, so i can start takeing clones and start flowering some buds, and then ill be able to take care of other things needed with that supplemental income

yepp well went the the store today and picked up the 10$ moister meter, as i always wanna water early, but no more, also talked to the guy about my light, he said i should deff get a new one, but untill the get bigger this one will work for another week or so. Also got some diff water from a diff source, same ph as other but i donno i just think mabey its bad water, but donno. But gonna go to the store again tommarow and blow some money on some goodies.
