its been a crazy couple days.. i spent a lot of the day yesterday away from my house.. i didnt want to have to deal with my ex stopping over to talk or something.. so i was kinda MIA...

i am borrowing a camera to take the video today... i wont be able to post it until later tonight.. like sometime after 9 or 10... but ill get it up either tonight or first thing in the morning...

Understandable, Im just gonna burn a few and wait for the show to start.

So whats new with the grow, what equipment did you add....

My grow is still coming along slowly...I don't know the last time I updated? Im still building up for a good run....My lighting situations getting better and everythings running smooth, it might be almost time to start slippery 1.0.

i am getting a camera today for sure to take a video.. i meant to take one the other day but it was my ex's camera and we just split up... so i have to borrow one from my pop's..

sweet setup man. what does the light bill look like? With that setup how many times a day do you flood in veg/flower?

well.. since both of your questions are somewhat related in a way... and i just got my electric bill.. ill answer both at once..


so right now i have everything on 24/0 lighting.. veg and flower both.. since the autos can flower under it they are doing fine with it... this means 2500w's in the veg, 3000 in the flower (750x4) going 24/0.. plus fans and pumps and all that shit.. btw i flood 4x daily both sides....

the reason i have the lights going all the time is that i was waiting on timers for my flower room... i was going to put both sides on 20/4 so i didnt have to fuck with cleaning up light leaks since there is obviously no room to walk.. or very little right now... the problem is the place im getting them from hasnt recieved them yet.. well 2 of 4 they have... so im still waiting on 2... so i just said fuck it all and let it go....

my bill this last month was 300... which isnt bad at all... given the circumstance... that also includes all the shit around my house i normally run.. and my ex was basically living here.. and she left all the lights on all the time.. ran the dishwasher daily.. all that dumb shit.. just wasting elec... so it should go down when i switch my lighting schedules...

so what i think i am going to do is this.... i'm going to call and find out about the damn timers.. they are 240v timers, thats why i just dont buy some temp ones... if they dont know whats going on with them yet i will just pull the breakers to cut the lighting in the flower room to 18/6.. i was thinking about boosting the wattage all the way to 1000.. but i think i am going to wait for the big girls to turn them up.. try to save some life on them... ill leave the veg room on for 24/0... and say fuck the light leaks.. since autos can flower under 24/0 the light leaks arent a big deal... this way i can start shaving off some power usage from my bill and get it to where i want it...

I got the Titan 5 timers http://www.horticulturesource.com/product_info.php?products_id=7291 because they plug in with a cord instead of covering up the whole outlet. And they look cool mounted next to the digi's.

you no what that is a nice setup but i di think the switable ballast is a money making joke. i am going to put a dimmer switch in line to my bulb and have the same thing to run lower light wattages. should work just find. man asmy your shit is growing very nicly, looking great bro keep itup

i love the dimmable ballasts.. these are 240s so adding a normal dimmer wouldnt work... but it is nice that i can adjust the power level based on my needs..

Yes, they are 240v. They have the smart cord that plugs directly into my Lumitek 1000w Dimmables. Didn't have to buy the extra cord

Note: having them so close to my Nutrient Monitor is causing serious problems. I'm basically limmited to checking levels during lights off. Putting them farther apart will be mandatory on my next remodel. I don't know if it's the timers or the ballasts. I've heard digitals are notorious. Works when the lights are off though and it hasn't effected anything else in the house or the grow. Maybe I shoulda bought a better monitor lol.

i heard the digitals can cause havok on surrounding electronics.. i havent had any issues yet myself.. but i dont have anything near them either..

Sounds good MG, I see a possible flaw. So By adding the dimmer in between the bulb and the ballast, you would be restricting how much energy the ballast is giving to the bulb. Still using the same amount of juice as the ballast is rated for unlike dimmable ballasts(unless they are scam) . I would think that the bulb would dim and but ballast working as normal, or would the ballast adjust? Looking forward to your info. Would love to build dimmers right into the flip flop box.......... That would be sweet.
I plan on making a few tutorials once things start arriving......
