Sprout!/Rice drying/& worms?

hey guys heres a couple pictures of a sprout of the bag seed i planted that finally sprouted. Your proboly wondering why i have rice on top of my dirt. I put rice on top to absorb some of the water out of the dirt because i didnt expect it to shower last night...but it did. I had another thread asking about the rice idea and from what people told me theyve never heard of anyone doing it but thought it was a good idea so maybe u can try it out! I was also wondering if putting a few worms in my dirt would be good for the soil/plant ...is there any chance the worms would eat the roots?

there is no need for the rice as long as you have holes in the bottom of your pot. secondly if you plan on using fertilizer there is no need for the worms cause they will die!!!
