Spider mites in waterfarm media HELP

Hey all I have a problem...yesterday I went into my garden and saw a ton of bugs crawling on my rez that's underneath 2 waterfarms. There were several pockets which I squished.

I was looking at the underside of some leaves that I wasn't sure why they were yellowing...and I didn't see any bugs or even eggs and I was looking closely...

Now I got to pull back the foil I put over the top of the waterfarm to stop algae growth and I find a shitload of spider mites in my grow stones. Big ones, little ones and little white eggs all in the grow media...just covering the grow stones...

What can I do to get rid of them that won't poison my plant since they're in the grow media?

HELP QUICK PLEASE...I WANT TO KILL THESE LITTLE BASTARDS before they do any more damage.

The application method would be the same as if you had them in soil, spray it down w/neem oil etc. then re-apply as directed. I'm surprised they are not up in the leaves though, they generally feed and web where stems join stalks...and they hate water.

You positive these are mites, what color are they??.

If they're all over the media but not the plant you better hope you don't have root aphids. They're like herpes, once you get 'em they're a nightmare to get rid of.

Treated the same as fungus gnats, with a soil drench.

And I'm hesitant to tell you what pesticide to use in that drench, it's organic and works but I've only done it once after exhausting all other remedies.

I just got some very expensive stuff called Magic Might, it's a natural insecticide that claims that you can use it on buds.

Worked for me.
