your right, but give me your opinion on my plan... I will be doing the popcorn tek. First I will boil my popcorn and simmer, fill aluminum pans atleast half full, the finish top layer of with cow dung and straw mixture 50/50 and a thin layer of vermiculite, wrap up with foil and put in pressure cooker til ready. While cooking I will sterilize my bathroom and myself, then once ready will inoculate the popcorn through 5 points both aluminum pans then coving those wholes. and finally off to the incubation chamber to colonize etc....

that really isn't spawning and you are asking for every trouble there is.

It is a process of expansion. First lnoculate your corn, then collonize it. Now use the colonized corn to spawn your substrate and finally, when the substrate is colonized, case, let that grow till the mycelium is not quite to the surface, then initiate pinning.

I mix 60% coco coir, 30% leeched field cow manure hand picked, 10% home made compost. I don't pasteurize anymore because I have big balls.

Are you familiar with d-casing bro.. if so that's what I was aiming for except I would adjust it to the correct substrate for copelandia's

cyan- is usually spawned with sawdust/bran flake... it is a wood species. I think I seen someone use rye tho.

Kervork- you dont pasturize? How has that worked for you? I use straw/manure 50/50

I have pasteurized in the oven it stinks up the place. Since then the closest to pasteurization I've come to is leaving my compost in a tub in the sun a few weeks before I use it. I don't use horse manure I use hand picked leeched cow pies from the range. No straw either, coco instead. I suspect using fresher manure would run a risk of contamination without pasteurization. My mix is more like something you could stick a plant in and grow it since I'm a gardner. 2 quarts spawn into a 3/4 filled 5 or 7 gallon smart pot. The smart pots stack. You put them in the back yard in the shade during summer and spray lightly with a hose once a day. When they are colonized and the rainy season comes spread them out in the shade and let nature do it's thing. Warning though, slugs and snails fucking love mushrooms and they will eat your entire crop if you let them.
