That's in Cape Town, it's really bad, haven't had rain in a while, really running low on fresh water, with 87lt a day, you're limited to 1 shower a week, 2 teeth brushing a week and one shit a month haha.

Just kidding, but it is really bad!

Hi Ty. In my part of South Africa we are low but not that low as the western province. The restrictions you are talking about currently apply in the western Cape province and Cape town.

Most of the country has a drought at the moment. In certain parts of Kwa Zulu natal province water restrictions have been implemented but not at the level of the western cape

One more thing.... Global warming is real...if you want evidence come to South Africa.

The rains are no where like they used to be when u was a kid . The seasons have changed. Places where you could grow crops etc it is no longer possible due to the desertification

I live in Colorado, at 1530m altitude. Last month it didn't snow like it always has in the past.

    No, it rained...

Yeah, it is pretty bad. But some people keep wasting water like it is no one's business.
It has not been this dry here in my lifetime nor in the 300 or so years this village existed.

Just touching on the water and climate change thing. Happening in Australia to.

I think we may be the driest continent on earth (please don't abuse me if I'm wrong, I said "think") but water has never been to much of a problem as the majority of our population hug the coastlines. Last 20 years we have seen a decline in water storage and even water restrictions which is something my grand parents never had.

I've been boning up on South Africa lately. What do you guys think of the candidates in the upcoming election?

Google Earth is highly educational; Capetown seems to have rich neighborhoods right next door to slums jam packed full of tin roofed sheds. The stark differences in such close proximity is mind blowing.

Personally I'm glad Cyril Ramaphosa won the election, definitely better than having the previous idiot's wife as the new leader. It will benefit our economy for sure. Hopefully we'll See some improvement.
