Sorry gotta ask a really stupid question

Sorry this word is not in my vocabulary..

Is cfl lighting, basically fluorescent lighting? Is it refering to a certain type of fluorescent bulb?I did a search and found nothing that answered such a question.

Stands for compact Flourescent lighting. You can get some of htem with fairly high (6500_lumens) etc.

Yeah, CFLs are basically those flourescent tubes that are made to fit in a regular light bulb socket.

I guess that I am just frustrated. The site I listed covers most everything about cfl's but people seem to just want one or two sentence answers. Dude the site I listed even has pictures!

Is the instant answer syndrome more prominent now with this younger generation?

Yeah I like to give people instant answers. I personally like to absorb as much information as I can constantly. Throughout the day if I hear a reference from the news, a word I haven't heard before, or anything that I don't know about I instantly go to the PC to find out about it. And now thanks to wikipedia.com I probably learn 10-30 new things a day. If I'm bored I'll just go onto wikipedia and use the random article link and read about stuff that I never even would have realized existed.

cheesta, that does not sound like instant gratification. that sounds more like educating yourself, and that is what all people should do on a daily basis. the world would be a better, non-biggot, non-hypocritical place to live.

I just called it gratification because it feels good not to be stupid.

i was just going to go to brutus maximus to have a look and ,those boobs,and the pic of the globe came up,i think both you and brutus know your stuff,but it takes me much longer to read yours ,as those boobs ,i just can not stop staring at them,but thanks for the globe photo,and come to that the bouncing boobs are really nice also,now i off to read what brutus has to say,one more glance before i go.

K, to the people who are saying younger people are lazier. I did a search for CFL... the only thing that came up was, people that already knew what CFL's were and was discussing about how to use them.

he is right,this is a good board ,i did not know what they were either,and i am fifty years old,i now do as i looked up the info they had on this site,i dont think they are putting shit on you,they really are helpful,and i have not been a member long myself,and any posts i do ,i have a bit of fun with,as i have said i am no expert on indoor growing,outdoor i have grown since a lad,but lots of folk really know there stuff,i read what you asked also,i did not reply as i did not know,but lots on this site do,and i think most folk are fair dinkum,and try to help,i entertain for a living,so i find it hard not to put silly things in,but only to give folk a laugh,not to put them down,and if you leave to go to others i think you will find this is one of the better ones,any way that is up to you,but ,i will try one thing that i had in my mind,when you described wattage used,i think 400 watts was mentioned,i also did not understand what a c.f.l was ,but i do know clones like less powerful light at first,then build up,so if your wattage was what i thought,it may be you are frying your clones,but i was not sure if i was correct in what i had read,so best not to put my two bobs worth in ,anyway hope you stay at least you can have a laugh,and i have learnt a lot,just by looking at what the others say,i hope i am not one to upset you as i am always sending stuff to the wrong threads,or people and they seem pretty tolerent,of my stuff ups,i am good at taking the piss,but i will also do it to myself if it gets a laugh,and if you stay you will learn more than if you go,as many sites are not as good as this one,but up to you ,peace from oz.
