Somewhat first grow....

Well, I've decided to start growing on my own. I use to have a friend who would let me water his plants with nutes when he's out of town. My dad grew, so I'm sure I won't be batting a thousand here just maybe a few hundred lol. I got my setup being setup. 2 68 watt cfls, 4 23 watt cfls. White walls , 6 pots(6 white widow feminized). Cutting edge nutrients, clone gel, happy frog soil. So... Let's see my passion come
To life in my closet.

I've got my seeds germinating in 2 peics of paper towel. And on a paper plate... I'm thinking of just throwing them in the soil and water it.

I personally do exactly that. Germinating can help you discard seeds that don't crack, but they will sprout just fine in 48-72 hours if you plant them about 1/2 inch in the soil and water daily.

throw in as much light as you can get away with while still keeping the temps down to the correct range. id suggest having the lights more spread out as well cus right now your just lighting the back of the box. 6 might be too much for the space but this grow will give you very good experience no matter how it turns out.

a few things:

you should start in smaller cups till they sprout and throw out some good roots then transfer to your final pots. i think you went straight to your final pot size. youll get better root mass by slowly up-sizing the pot.

mount the lights up as high as possible, when the seedlings pop and you need to get them closer to the lights used a spacer(books, or something similar) under your pots to raise them up instead of lowering your lights to meet the plants. your growing in a small space you want to maximize the height your plants can grow to.

i dont see any intake/exhaust holes in the walls of your box, if its fully sealed and you only have a fan inside moving air youll just circulate hot air around. not sure of the temps in your box but looks like it might get hot.

you should invest in a thermometer soon.

if you plan on growing more out of the same set up i would suggest spending less on nutes and soil and more on the box for now. get the grow space right first then the rest will follow. good luck!

Well im living in a appartment. So I can't really make intake and exhaust... Without fucking a lot of shit up. But I put an extra fan in there so it wouldn't get hot And I already put the seeds in :/... I can put spacers under my pots and move my lights all the way up to their potential. So 2 fans and I have 2 68 watt cfls. Thinking of putting them in but vertical because... Leveling em is a lot and I also like to just move my lights... Dunno why but I do

New picture is up. Added a 68w cfl that goes along with the 3 23w. Whe I find a cheap dresser for sale I'm buying it. I want it to be like 5 feet tall . Probably will use Mylar / pc fans for exhaust and intake.
