I think its typical of the strain i have. Last time a grew it, it was more lavender. This time a little richer purple. But i had a brand new bulb and some better nutes. So it is the strain to answer your question. Some people think that lowering temps will get you purps, but to get real purps you gotta have the right strain

yeah I grew some mazar-i-sharif outdoors, in HAWAII and it turned out to have some purple on it despite all the heat. But this thing is 100% pure indica I swear, the leaves are wider than longer, almost literally. I gotta hike back up to my grow spot and take some pix.

I would kill to have some of those genetics you got there man, those are some killer budz.

People hate on purple because dealers sell it for ridiculous prices just because the way it looks, not the way it smokes. I have come accross some excellent purple but I have also come accross a ton of purple that looks great but has a mediocre high. I'm not a hater, I just refuse to be a sucker for purp.

I don't know how a purple nug with this much resin could not get you ripped though.

hello yota and all. i definitely agree with the negative stigma towards purps coming from shady dealers. you don't know how many times i've heard 'i got sum purp man' and the buds r horrible or not genetic purp. way back when, when i could still stand to smoke them, we had sum decent mids that had a heavy purple tinge.

anyways, i had a question that i thought might get answered here. the smallest of my 3 plants (all from bagseed) right now, has started showing some dark red/purple spots on the flowers on the top bud. all the leaves and foxtails are still green, but some of the stems are getting red too. when does the purple color usually set in, and is it possible i've got some purp here? the spots are still pretty small, so i don't know if they'll show up on my camera, but ill try to get some pics soon.

Nope, never used any special fertilizer, never heard of it either. Have you tried any?

in terms of Hydro's question, im not really sure about when a plant is supposed to be purple. I think it depends on genetics. I know Purple Kush is supposed to turn purple in the final weeks of flowering. My plant started showing purple colors late in flowering as well.
