Hey i just got some soil outside. Is it safe to bake it in the oven while its in the bucket?? the bucket is plastic and has a metal handle

No no and no. The bucket will melt, the dirt(not soil) is crap, by the time youve baked it with the electricity money the oven pulls, you could have got a bag of potting mix

Sorry, only on rare occasions does backyard dirt work well indoors.
Try it if you'd like, but you may not be happy with the results.
You can pick up a bag of potting soil for less than us$5.

Definitely ok. Put the oven on as high as you can and leave the house for say 3hours just so u don't breathe in the toxic fumes. Also a tip put alot of flamable stuff near the oven, it'll def help

Just joking around with you man. Honestly bro, you would be better off just waiting until you could buy some soil instead of using outside dirt. If you can't afford it today, just get it asap. Outside dirt is rarely the answer for an indoor plant.

So is this just some dirt you dug out of your yard? Why not go the extra mile and invest in your grow? Get some good soil you purchase from a garden store or garden section. You can get a decent one cheap. You get out what you put in, in my opinion.

Which plastic? By 250 degrees F some plastics are puddles.

Also if you are serious about growing decent vegetation indoors a bag of good soil is the least of your expenses. Jmo. cn

You should really quit arguing with people you asked opinions of.
What is your bucket made of? PP, HPDE or some other compound? If you can't answer that question then you are guessing at the melting point.
Further, if 414 deg F is your melting point, then what is the deformation temp? Plastic does not have to melt to deform.
Long story short, if you cook yard dirt you get an unbelievable stench that will permeate your whole house - a bag of store bought will seem cheap at twice the price at that point.
