I recently transplanted a plant that was at the end of its second veg week in a 5 gallon fabric pot, to a 5 gallon bucket system to keep it as a mother plant. She did okay, she started really not doing okay, then she bounced back, all in all it took about a week. I am seeing new roots growing in the top of the root section.
I have read/heard that roots which grow to seek out nutrients in soil function differently and are to some extent "different" than roots that grow to seek out nutrients in hydro. Is there any truth to this? Are these white new roots shooting out because the environment is different, and is the plant going to eventually let the rest of the roots die off?
Before I get absolutely flamed, lets for the sake of argument say there isn't root rot going on, cultivation nation nutrients stain dark blue and I hate it but it's what I'm using for now.
