I currently have 15 seedling about a week from sprout in solo cups with MG organic soil. I was wondering if it would be ok to transplant to fox farms ocean forest. Would it cause shock? And also would it cause it to have a more of a chance to turn male or herm?
Just be careful, fox farms ocean forest is GREAT soil but it has lots of nutrients in it (It is very "hot") and it can cause nute burn on young plants. I would suggest mixing 50% fox farms ocean forest with 50% fox farms light warrior to avoid nute burn. If you go straight into ocean forest, don't add any nutes for first 3-4 weeks as it will take at least that long for them to use up whats in it, and if you can't get a hold of light warrior at least mix in some extra perlite so that the soil stays aerated and drains well.
Awesome thanks for the advice! The local hydro store does have both light warrior and ocean. Do you guys recommend me just getting the warrior and switching to that or mix the both?
If you were going to transplant like twice more (say from your solo, to a 2 qt, then a final large pot) I'd mix the MG organic and FFOF 50/50 the first repotting, then straight FFOF for your final. That's pretty much what I do and it works fine.
I wouldn't recommend planting in 100% light warrior, at least not for the long run. If you go for one OR the other, go for the FFOF. If you can, mix them 50/50.

Do you have problems with soil compaction? I am potted in straight FFOF (Plus myco) and now I am wishing I added something to the mix to lighten it up cuz its getting pretty solid.

Can I transplant to 50% Fafard super fine germinating soil and 50% FFOF or would it be to much going from MG to this combo? Reason being is no local stores carry FF light warrior do to regulations or something like that. Also, they have Organic Coco. Should I do 50% coco and 50% FFOF would that be better than the Fafard combo?
Your best bet is to just buy a big bag of Pro Mix. use that, fuck all this other crap that people use. Promix has no nutes in it, no extra crap. Unless ur using organic soil compounds, go with promix.
