Socko two days from topping.

Well the guide I am following also tells me to do it really early for maximum stunting. I am not topping the turd untill it needs it if it will. it seems to be a really short bushy strain.

you are doing nothing new. you should have let it get to be several nodes high. then cut a few off the top and bottom. the first 2 bottom branches are always weak and spindly. if you would have femmed it you would have gotten up to 8 tops. but like i said i the beginning, your going to do whatever you want.

At this point the only worry I have with Socko is her round leaves are starting to brown. (i do have a ph kit and i tested runoff but did not see anything out of order.).

If you are going to quote me at least use the entire quote. I asked a question and stated I would not modify my ph unless I noticed an issue. And my ph is fine so I didnt.

Aight. When this grow with socko is done (if it goes well) Im gong to compile all the images and information I have gathered into an alternative guide to short term bonsai. (since I dont intend for it to be alive long enough for me to have to do monthly trimmings. But you never know. I always can if I decide to keep it around longer.)

If socko grows, top it again when it is bigger.

Ok all BS aside...Dont trash socko. You have already done all this...if you need to just top agian when she is ready. If you need to keep her even more sqaut then tie down.

It is entirely possible to top multiple times. You go after the split colas and use the same topping method to again double your cola count.

I intend to top it again once these new stalks grow out so I can achieve 4 but I will probably stop there.

Well it isnt supposed to be more than a foot I can grow it 2 feet in my box setup but then theres no room to flower (might take it out and put it in my closet with a HPS or some warm CFL's if I want to grow it bigger) but the LST plus topping/bonsai method I am using could conceivably allow me to fit a 4+ foot plant in a 2 foot box.

Another option is to veg in the closet and grow 1 foot clones (provided sockos female) and throw them into the box to flower.

let them grow a little. you wouldn't put a newborn in a cage fight would you? let your plants grow a little. they are trying to establish themselves. they need a sturdy stalk, deep roots, strong leaves........ anything you do at this point will cause stress. stress causes problems, particularlly hermorphidites. let it grow. wait for it to take off. they will grow over an inch a day. waiting a few days now gains weeks down the road. once it is healthy and growing strong then TOP IT. then TOP IT AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN............ ever seen a mother, sheesh.

Yes this is essentially what I plan to do fdd but the shorter I do it the shorter my plant will be. This strain seems tall and wirey I want to try to bush or vine it. I fully understand that topping at such a young age can cause undue stress but this is just an experiment and in a way an art form.
