so mad ... had to vent

my ballast buzzes but my fan is louder. i guess im really lucky. i have plenty of space, no worries about a little buzzing, and no heat issues. like i said, they definetly have thier uses. but if you can use a HID, you WILL get better results.

ps- my 400w hps sits 3 inches from my canopy(VERY well cooled), you could grow a plant INSIDE a cfl and not get the lumens i am.
 
Hey no need for the expensive cfl's really!

These bulbs were only 50p each so about 72 cents each!

My first grow had 14 of these cheap ass bulbs above and around it, 6 above in an home made hood and 8 around her on some clothes rack i bent

Used the same cheap ass bulbs throughout the grow, i just harvested 2oz from her and have a second plant with the same cheap ass setup arround her, doing even better

I know you can probably harvest more with the dearer bulbs, but 2oz a plant will do me nicely :bigjoint:

First 5 pictures are the cheap cfl, my first grow and cheap ass setup and what i harvested and the last 2 pics are of my second grow, looks to have more on than the first :bigjoint:

it looks quite festive, like drinks should be served around it! if you could get them to flash and chase like xmas light that would be magic.
 
and less than a buck a bulb is VERY nice i must admit. do you know what you pay for your electric? cause thats 1400W, that kinda power costs about 80 bucks a month here. thats where id get off that train, i harvest 2oz's every month from my 400W and 4 t-12 tubes and it costs me about 40 bucks a month on my power bill.
 
I am first grow. Soil for testing. Under one t5x8bulb. The 12in x 5 plants are so bushy I can't even believe it. Best I have seen!! Going to test the 3000 lamps with two t5x8 to test flowering.
 
nice buds man ... and its does look like a christmas tree...how many watts pure bulb?...im looking at growing to my grow store today and get a 125w cfl for about 20 bucks the lady said it had a built in ballast and an 8ft cord i was gunna add that in to my cabinet when the new guys get ready to grow...there just seedlings now ... 3 bagweed seeds and 1 "knugg" seed that broke through ground some time last night.

Lmao yea it makes me laugh every time i open the cupboard but i have only got about £50 in that room in total, and its throwing out 2oz'ers lol

Erm the bulbs are 18 watt and i had 14 on her so 252 watts, thats how ya work it out right?
 
oh, when it says 100w on the box they must mean equivelent watts. thats not too bad at all.

i still think a short video of the lights flashing like its xmas would be priceless
 
some of the lower buds on this plant are huge, thats why im expecting to get a better yield from her than the christmas tree

Does the picture of 1 of my lower buds look bigger than the average lower bud?

after lots of looking around im thinking of installing a few sockets into my grow cabinet along with the t5 lights...plus im all about keeping this thread going....
