So....I guess I screwed up my nutrient mix in my RDWC......I premixed the nutrients in a gallon jug to add to the water to get the proper PPM (40 gallon system)...but I guess this is not OK.
I added too much CalMag.....the plants look brittle and dry...
Just too much creativity going on ......!..I'm guessing it's more of a stick to the schedule type thing...
#1 - Here's a nutrient schedule...What you think......?
#2 - when changing water...does a person let all the water out ...so there's like no water in the system - ?....for like 10 seconds or 2 minutes....and then add new water?
Here's the schedule:

In my setup I drain all water I can then refill to proper amount I need.
I then add nutrients 1 at a time and let it mix fully then the next nutrient and so on until all nutrients are added.
After the nutrients have mixed up a few minutes I check pH and adjust if needed.
Then a few hours later I check values again to make sure things have stabilized.
Hope that helps some. :P
Oh and yes do not mix nutrients together before adding to the water/res...can't remember the techy term, but they don't work that way.

if you mix a lot of nutes in a small container, that will cause issues for sure. nute lockout.

before you change too much, you might want to dump and just fill up again but mix in smaller batches i.e. mix up a batch for 10 gallons in your gallon container, add and do that 3 more times.

the ratios are good but the ppm levels are too much IMO. most people rarely need to go above 6 to 800 ppm.

if you run that strong, keep an eye out for tip burn and then reduce ppm

I agree with @rkymtnman ... I found around 500 was good in my hydro setup.
Also maybe not flush for so long ... 2 weeks may not be needed, but up to each growers preference ... I usually only do a few days (3-5) or when they stop feeding and or drinking ... feed 'em 'til they stop. :P

I run my tap water into the last bucket via garden hose, room temp water.Pump in my res goes to waste.I run until EC drops to close to tap.Water level doesn't change, water in equals water out.Takes about 20 minutes.

what do you mean by 3-5 days?
