I was in Canada recently visiting family. My cousins fiancé is a teacher, and she recently moved to Alberta and applied for a job. She got the job while I was there, which pays her 80k a year, and she gets 12 months paid maternity leave (and obviously gets free health care as well).

Why can't we do that here? Instead teachers are a political punching bag that get paid shit.
