well Here we go...
This is my first ever grow journal, primerally started to get information and advise from more experienced growers...I am not gonna pretend that I know axactly what I am doing...helll I dont even have a solid plan, but there are some general derections I am mouving in...
The set up so far: Well its a walk in closet space, dont have exact measurments but about 6X4 and about 10 ft high...its covered in maylar and I am using 250MH and 400HPS no hoods, just hanging bulbs...I am using strictly dirt so far...that may change with time...Primarely the space will be used for mothers and as a nursery for clones...I have more space to convert to flower room and most clones should end up outdoors hopefully...So far I have one high end plant...dont know what it is (any ideas?) but it looks pedigree LOL. I have started tieing her off and feuture clones coming up nicely ...There are also some more mistery seeds just coming up...
Well...this is it so far...the pics and questions are coming soon!

as you can tell the room is in its set up stage...it should look alot neater in a few more weeks...but first I need to set up a hot air exhaust...with the door closed the room gets waaay too hot...so Ive been leaving it open as a temporary solution...any cheap and effective Ideas? It should be faily easy...I have no problem making holes in the wall, but I also want to take care of audor problem while I am at it...right now just sorting through options and ideas so feel free to contribute...

Well here are some pics...sorry my camera is a cheap POS but it'll do for now...
as you can tell the room is not finished by far...next step: hot air exahust...need the cheapest and most efficient way since the room gets way too hot...I have been keeping the door open to keep the temps at bay but I need a permenant solution with odor control...
Maybe built a box with a cheap wallmart fan on the grow room side pushing air through carbon filter and than through hole in the wall? or should it pull through filter first? can I get away with just installing the fan and taping filter to it on grow room side? Will this put the strain on the fan causing too much electrical draw? any links or suggestions are appreciated...

you need to buy a good fan. it doesnt pay to go cheap on the ventilation. a good vortex or valueline inline fan is good.

...well, that would be ideal...just checked out those blowers and while they look really nice for now I need DIY homemade solution...under $50 anyone?think Ill stop by homedepo today and see what they got...

Well I went to home depo and found squarrel cage bathroom fans for under $30...I also found some "in duct" blowers for also under $30...the HD ones are 70 cfm...The stg supply...I think it was 150 cfm...
Here is my question: how many cfm's I need to cool a walk in closed roughly 30 sq ft, and 10 ft high? at most I am planning on runing there no more than 6 400 HPS bulbs, no hoods...?I also need to run some sort of odor control with this blower...

thats kind of small space for 6 lights except for the ceiling height. you could do a huge vertical grow or colloseum grow i guess.
so your talking 300 cubic feet. you wanna change the air 3-5 times per minute. with 6 400w bulbs its gonna get hot. but again you got a 10" ceiling.lol
one room change per 5 minutes to just replace co2 levels. but you still gotta get rid of the heat.

3- 5 times equals a 900cfm-1500 cfm exhaust. i dont think that little bathroom fan is going to cut it.

you can probly do it different if you had cooltubes.

someone else chime in here with some input. im curious to hear someone else myself.

Well, found some blowers in my local "toy shop" ...270 cfm for $130! I dont think so...so I will be searching the web, If memory serves me right I have seen some blower/filter combos fairly reasonable...well over $100 but a better deal than retail...so far room stays preety cool with door open and there isnt much stink yet...There are 8 new sprouts so far from some mistery seeds and they all look well so figure in 3 more weeks I'll absolutely need some form of odor control, also I'm not too keen on leaving the door open....and once they go in buckets I'll need to add lights, it will get hotter...also wana do more reaserch on collesium grows, sounds intresting, but really this room strictly for moms and clones 18/6 all the way...I got another space to flower...isnt set up yet ...
Preety soon gonna start taking clones from my pedigree bitch....

so...still no blower...but I have a cloning question too...think they are getting ready...at what point on the branch should I cut so I get more clones of the same branch...I think I read someplace it should be after 2 complete nodes...is it right?
Also think I might have solved the temp question for now (and if not it will still be a nice addition to the room)...I'm gonna install a fan on the bottom corner ( diagonally opposite the corner where the blower will go, it will go on top opposite wall) It will get cool air from outside the room and suck through a scrubber...also building a bat wing for the 2 running lights...more pics coming soon...could use more imput from all ....peace.

Installed a fan that blows fresh air from outside, has a carbon based airscrubber and seems to keep temps at around 77* , also built a bat wing reflector, byt the plants seem too hot under it, solution: another fan blowing accross the plants...will post pics soon...also, probably take clones this weekend...getting ready....

i havnt got an inline fan as of yet, nut i will next year. this year i have a stanley blower, got on e bay for 40 bucks. i have made used some adapters for vent ducts and turnered the blower into an exhaust. has 3 speeds and works very well.
