Snapped branch on first topping of mainline...

First grow, decided to mainline and tonight was the night of the clipping. Everything went well until I decided that the fan leaves I had left were the extra branches that needed to be wired with the rest. I wired the branches instead and tried to move then into more of a "x"... Noob mistake Should have stopped after this first photo.

came back to adjust and heard snap! Aww man... My branch for the start of my mainline is now hanging by a thread. I used some wire to prop it into place and shut the lights out since it was that time.

Came back 6 hrs later to find that it had fallen out of the sling I made it. It now appeared to be slightly Tanish in color at the break with a little wrinkling near the break. Worried it's too far gone but hearing some of the members here talk about if it's hanging on by anything.. You have a chance... What about after it fell out of it's sling for who knows how long?

...either way, I grabbed the medical tape and since I left those fan leaves below them attached. I went ahead and taped it down to it flush again like a friendly splint. Hoping for the best... Thoughts?

You should be ok. If it isn't dead the next morning your good. You would know within a few hours to a day.

I break arms all the time. I’d say if it’s just skin, it’s gone. But hey shit happens right?
Good luck :eyesmoke:

I was nervous but this morning the fan leaves were drooping but that growth sprout still has some vigor. That one leaf standing straight up out of the mass. I went ahead and clipped those fan leaves like a fresh cutting this morning to try and help transpire less... Prob should have done it last night but was scared to do more harm than good.

Fingers crossed!

Last night's pic update. This morning, I clipped the newer fan leaves slightly at the growth spot. They were starting to claw a little and I was scared to clip them with the bigger ones. Now I'm thinking I should have just done it then anyway. Don't see any yellowing yet.

2 days later. Rotated the pot but I would say it still is showing me signs of hope even though the fan leaves on the branch look pitiful. It appears to me, that branch might be attempting to lift its head

Well I think this branch is going to pull through. 3 days later and it is def showing me signs of life. Those fan leaves are actually standing tonight So excited! I thought they were goners for sure. The wire ring I created and added this morning to keep it from reaching laterally and reinjuring itself. Might help with some training

10 day update for anyone interested. She is trying to shed her bandage. Here you can see just how bad the break was.
