I'm super impressed with this grow so far. still a little worried about overcrowding...

next step will be an effective, preferably homemade carbon filter.

10-19-08 update. Plants have been on 12-12 for about 5 days now, one of the plants is already showing its sex. It's a male. Hopefully some females will start showing here in the next few days; still 11 undecided.

6 males believed so far... included is a pic of 3 in the window before their demise.

One of the males got zapped by the heat of the 400w MH when the circulation fan was off.... so now the light is a tad higher and the fan is on for good to keep temps down. I noticed with the fan off the reflector was hot to the touch, all fixed.

I'm pretty sure the short bushy one pictured all by it's lonesome is a female. we put a couple of the suspected males back in for another day or so just to be 100%.

Enjoy the overall shot. so far, so good! still no nutes to this day. :leaf:

nice lookin setup you guys have there!! plants are lookin pretty healthy.. I just started flower a few days ago on our setup of 8. hoping that outta 8 we get at least 4 females! The fan that you have running in there is it just an inline duct booster fan? We started of with using thouse, but seemed to have problems with exhausting the room fast enough. Our temps were geting into the 90's. Had to go out and buy a vortex fan.. But since that all's good! If you want check out our grow in the signature. Keep up the good work!!

~Cheers~

yea it's just a 6" inline from home depot.

Inductor 6 In. In-Line Duct Booster Fan - DB206 at The Home Depot

so far it's worked fine, but only when used with a small house fan like so...

i keep that one blowing across the canopy, and over the light... we had some issues in the beginning, but everything is fine now with 80-84 degrees being the average. it also helped to have that fan blowing into the direction of the duct fan.

thanks for comments, I will be sure to check yours out!

we're having to move the light up about every other day, these guys are really moving. humidity in the room is a little above what's optimal but still not a concern. we may use a dehumidifier in the future if needed.

once we get the sex determined off all the plants, we're gonna put one of the females back into veg and clone her.

a couple pics taken today...

is it alright just to take one from flower and put her into veg to become a mother? I was under the impression that you can just take a couple clones off her in flower?

Shit that's an amazing idea! We'll definitely be doing this also
just be careful not to stress your plant too much, that could increase the likelihood of hermies. once it goes back into veg keep it there for at least a couple weeks before trying to flower again. a lot of people will advise against this, but you shouldnt have any problems as long as there are no other big stress factors.

UPDATES:

Plants are now a little over a week into flowering. they started showing what looked like a magnesium deficiency , so we bought a few nutes and etc. up until now it's been a water + soil only grow, but we'll begin applying Fox Farm Tiger Bloom asap. along with FFTB, we'll also feed them a little MagiCAL.

some are stretching a little more than I'd like, so i pinched some of the main stalks (supercropping).

on a side note, we also cut out a rubber mat for the floor to protect from spills.

Just finished taking some bong rips and did some pruning. i broke a few of their necks, this method is working great so far. they all seem to be doing good, shifting towards the light rather quickly. from above the canopy i see plenty of bud sites. bongsmilie

thanks man! how long have you been on nutes now? did you ease them on it? it's super easy to burn a plant up... i'm starting them out on Tiger Bloom using 1 tsp per gallon, every other watering. i'll ease it up to 2 tsp over the next 4 weeks hopefully, i'll let them me what they want.

i've only fed them once since they've been in flowering.. only used water up till that point... but i'm having a lil bit of a problem with my Ph... I just got some Ph down but can't add it till my next water.. so i think right now my plants are getting nute lockout cause my ph is so high... pretty shitty.. as of now its running between 7.4 - 8 really high =/ so hopefully soon they'll start looking a lil bit healthier.. Check them out if you'd like just posted new pics
