hi
iv got a small closet. 1.8m*35cm*70cm. growing in soil.
until now ive used for flowering 2 45 watt cfls and 135watt uv led lighthouse hydro (that was disappointing at the ending results, if someone thinks different about this led please let me know)
ive got and old 400w hps from a friend and want to know if it would be ok to use it verticaly in my closet. never used hps but i know the heat that comes out from the bulb so im trying to get a cooltube. beside its winter her.

so, would it be ok to use it this way or its to strong for my small closet?

thnks

sadly, i'm one of those lazy phuckin' Americans who never learned how to read metric so i'm a little hazy on your spatial dimensions but if i remember metric measurements at all then 1.8 meters is near 6 feet and i assume that is your vertical height?

...if so then you should be able to run a 400HPS in a barebulb vertical orientation with no problem at all, i personnal run a 600HPS in a DR120 which is 4ft x 4ft x 6ft i think (the 4 x 4 is right but the vertical height might be a bit more, lol.

btw, i think it's better to spend money on a bigger, better exhaust fan than to spend money on a cooltube.

u got a point about geting better exhaust.

what i want to know was if the 2 feet wide should be enough for a 400w hps with a cooltube and keepping a normal temp.?

yeah man, 2ft square would be perfect for a barebulb, vertical donut with plants surrounding the bulb.

i know a few growers on another site who run 2 stacked 400's in a 3 x 3 space so a single 400 should be no problem in your space.
